I bought one! Can still add to cart so there appears to be more than the one available. I'm happy with that until I can get my hands on a 6900 XT when they are widely available in the coming months. Who knows maybe I'll really like it. Haven't had a Sapphire card since my 9800 PRO in 2003.

I ended up with both the 3090 and 6900XT after the way the ordering went down, originally I was keen for the 6900XT so when I could I did an order, but after waiting I ended up grabbing a 3090 when I saw one, seeing reviews and the support in Blender for Optix/CUDA I figured it would prob just be better anyway, not to mention he 24Gb of mem.

Anyway, decided to chuck them against each other anyway, the 6900XT is bloody heavy and damn I love the look of the ref design, but it is slower, the 3090 just smashes it in Blender.

As for gaming, seems about the same based on the 3D Mark stuff I ran, even RT isnt that bad. Did a short comparison video, will just sell the 6900, pretty sure someone will give it a good home :)

How much for the 6900 XT? I will pick it up anytime you want. I assume Gold Coast is still correct going by your avatar?

I've not seen any other card with a 6900xt main processor, and a 6800xt graphics co-processor. So is that like some kind of single board Cross-Fire? Either way, easily worth the cost of a 6900 and 6800xt together.

Alternatively, there's other typos in there, and they actually meant $2680, or $1680?

Ive been testing on the Sapphire NITRO+ AMD Radeon RX 6800, she's resting up on the healing bench now after having made room for the 6900 XT that is going in today.

It's a mint little (big) card for sure, it is light weight, quiet and cool as a cucumber. Not tea bag at all for much better performance than a 3070 and with twice the vRAM, dual BIOS too at about the same price as 3070. L1T put up a video about this card over night if you're interested to see it in detail:

Some results stock and OC for ya...

Hmm, looks like a nice card for high refresh 1080p gaming. Doesn't seem like enough of a bump over my 1080ti to make the switch from 1080p to 21:9 stop hurting though. RIP my wallet.

Side note: holy hell, seems ryzen cpu scores have skyrocketed since the last 3dmark update (that or a bios update I guess). Just re-tested my own system after looking at your results and my cpu score has magically jumped from 12k to 16.5k since the 4th of december. lol

The RX 6800 (non-XT) certainly looks good. The performance when overclocked tho is good over the stock, but given the price bump exceeds the XT. Not good enough.
Did you do Rage Mode, or tweak the OC yourself? With a stock reference XT on Rage mode and using a much slower Zen+, only the CPU score brings the total down below.

Rage mode isn’t available on the non-XT cards. I tweaked the OC myself, I tried a little higher on core and vRAM but setting over 2450 core it would cause the clock to not go above 500 MHz and Superposition would start but run at 21 FPS lol. Same thing happened if I tried to set over 2070 MHz on the vRAM. Although not every run. It wasn’t the very latest drivers so it could be as simple as a quirk with that version.

I have noticed that you can only turn the core voltage down with Wattman and these cards. Default is 1025mv already so it’s already pretty low compared to the previous RDNA cards which were 1200mv default.

Hey does anyone know if any local retailers will still be stocking the reference boards for the 6800 (xt)?

So an interesting thing I noticed since installing the 6900 XT, games crashing randomly after playing for a while. Sometimes under an hour, sometimes a couple of hours. Never happened before with my 5700 XT, only since the 6900 XT was installed yesterday. I went hunting for the issue, all the usual steps. Couldn't find any reason for it.

This morning though I got to the point of loading my Default+XMP motherboard BIOS profile and have been playing games for a while today and no crashes yet. So it seems suddenly that my CPU, RAM etc OC is no longer quite 100% stable with the new GPU. Wouldn't have thought that could be a thing but it's looking that way right now. I will have to adjust and re-validate my CPU and RAM OC again it seems.

Being generous there, I'd say at least Feb/Mar maybe even April. Cards are on mass back order especially in USA so we wont get a whole hell of a lot till those are filled.
