It's not just the miners, die shortages, component shortages etc.

The good thing with mining is the more people that do it the harder it becomes and the quicker it'll become less profitable especially with the current gen of cards pulling so much power.

Plus, when Ethereum 2.0 launches, the current big mining boom will grind to a halt. GPU's don't help with mining for that new crypto AFAIK. Majority of current miners are mining ETH, but that will soon change.

6900xt @ 1599 is basically RRP (still pricey)
if its for the 6800, then its double-ish RRP

?! Paid yesterday, from the preorder 3 months ago
I thought it had to be paid within the 2 days of receving the offer to secure placement, I paid mine 3 months ago :/

    How'd you get double?
JW were selling it at $949 3 months ago, the recent listing from yestereday (now removed) had it at $1149.

I didn't open the link, just gave the 2 possible variations on what 1599 could have been based on the information.

so...RRP for a 6800 was supposed to be about 580ish USD if I remember rightly.
    RRP for a 6900xt was 999 USD.

    add GST/import.

    approx 800 rrp for a 6800....(the double-ish)
approx 1500 rrp for a 6900xt. (the rrp)

Those RRP are for AMD reference cards, not AIB cards. AMD only made couple months of production runs on the reference cards. Those RRP are bullshit.

anyway, I think relatively speaking the 6800 is at a nice spot even if its around $1300 ~ $1400. 3070 and 3080 pricing have gone through the roof and stock is basically non-existent. 6800XT supply seems as bad as the NV stuff.

Very happy with my 6800 reference. Even happier that it cost < $1k.

I just decided with the way things are going that I would pay now so I don't miss the email and lose my card!

6800 is a fine card, and sometimes its even available to buy.
Don't think I've ever seen one for <$900. the AU RRP ended up pretty much at ~$900.

Fast enough really for 1080p and 1440p everything. 16GB ram means it should have a decent life ahead of it. Being what ~10% slower than 6800xt isn't really noticeable for most people in most games.

    It's all Vapeware

100 units, Australia probably assigned 20 units per distributor.
