I think with the testing you guys have provided we're starting to see enough to call it a trend with the results all being reasonably consistent, enough to suggest that these types of low percentage numbers will continue. Its definitely not enough to support the original suggestion that Nvidia compress texture and colour detail to gain "anti consumer performance.".

I'd say its just a bit of straw clutching, it was a fun little trip down fanboy lane though.

All this bickering and no one has addressed the real issue: Why are you running HDR on windows Beast?? Last time i tried (a year ago) it was so bloody shit :(

Has win11 really upped the game there?

Is it automatic now, or a manual process still?

Honestly it was shit when i last tried it, the mapping was all wrong :(

Super happy if it's improved though, because i'm really liking the sound of the 42" C2's...

Sometimes its automatic but most of the time you have to enable it in windows before you launch the game.

There's a hotkey to toggle it on and off now at least, Win + Alt + B

I am honestly not technically versed enough to tell you whether or not the mapping or perf has improved - I would assume that is game dependent.

It's automatic for FC6 and Elden Ring (the only 2 new games i have been playing lately) in Win11

The HDR experience has improved massively in Windows. I run Win 11 but I think the same was true for Windows 10 towards the end?

I leave HDR on all the time and at least on an LG Oled it's an awesome experience. I can finally say "it just works", I never really think about HDR other than making sure it's on in-game.

If I turn HDR on I get flickering/ blanking issues
    Though that is with a GT1030 :)

Turn on HDR in Windows and leave it on - set the slider bar for SDR content to around 50% - if it looks as it should, then it means your display is configured well to be ready for HDR. I use this as good gauge of how "right" HDR games will look out of the box.

Some monitors assist by having locked parameters for certain HDR modes. In my FV43U, the HDR1000 preset locks out all controls over brightness/contrast/colour/local dimming/dynamic contrast, etc. and is great out of the box.
