Hmm, could be a good upgrade from my Fury. I don't really need it though TBH .

Umart is selling them for that

Great price if you can get the noise and the temps down. Perfect for a custom loop, or undervolting. Haven't heard of anyone flashing one to an XT, anyone know of this having been done as yet? You'd still be down a few CU's but a beast of a card for the price if it can be done.

I bought used GTX1070Ti for ~$360 recently from ocau forum. (it was top of the range Asus Strix model with box, ~1.5 years warranty left).
Probably the coolest and quietest card I ever had cos heatsink was very similar to one on 2080Ti Strix.
Considering GTX1070Ti is very similar in performance to RX5700(but no drivers issues, bsod, super noisy, overheating, etc etc), I think it's much better card. (also ~$100 cheaper)

Seems to be a very common thing to do and gets roughly an extra 10% performance.

Temps do worry me though. Brisbane gets pretty toasty!

For trhe price bloat attached to nvidia cards, they should all come with bundles of free games.. Because we all know they aren't really free.

And could you point out where ray tracing on a GPU became more than an interestinhg tech demo?

And clearly, given you apparent desire to see AMD die, you would be more than happy to pay over $1000 for a 2060 - competition is a winner.

Honestly, just go to his profile page, and click "Ignore" in the top-right.

    That, and report the posts.

Moving on, though. Reference 5700 undervolted is apparently acceptably quiet and cool. You can use the powerplay tools to enable zero-rpm fan when not under load to keep it quiet for every day use.

I'll be getting a ref 5700 eventually.. not that much diff to the XT except the ref. XT is louder and hotter.

inb4 "Hurr 5700 series was already low end compared to 2080ti and even 1080ti *drooling*"

I'l admit I was a little surprised when I saw them come out with the lower range of cards, might be good to finally wash the polaris cards out of the market since they've been the low/mid offering for so long

One thing I'm finding very different as well is the difference in driver updates, felt like there was a new geforce driver every week when i was using my 1080, compared to radeon that has one a month (if that)

What's everyone's opinion on the Moore's Law is Dead guy? I'm not knowledgeable enough to know if he's talking BS or not.

bah. i think itll be dead at 3nm. if they even get to that point.

but yeh it's basically dead. they are getting more transistor density, but i think we can all see it is getting harder.
    14nm ++++++++++++++++++ anyone?

and we'll have graphics cards the size of mt everest to drive an ultra ultra ultra wide something

Wonder how the power consumption will be on new 5500 cards given Navi doesn't exactly sip the power.

14 less compute units but higher freq than the 5700 will be intersting

Wierd that amd are comparing it to the 480, not showing alot of confidence not comparing to the 5 series
