But FSR is so easy to implement into games. lol
I think it's a good sign there are a lot of developers are on board. Project timelines might dictate when existing titles could potentially get updated, I'd imagine a number of big titles have an existing roadmap of things to build that are already prioritised (or new titles with existing deadlines to finish just building the game!). Hopefully the mention of EA & Frostbite means BF2042 will have it at launch
Still more games than DLSS had at launch .
I think the focus of this technology is more on improving performance for lower end hardware as opposed to Nvidia's angle of making ray traced games actually playable or 8k as a novelty. This would be reflected in the types of games that support it, though it's clearly been rushed and either way will take some time to implement in the larger/more popular games.
This tech is perfect for APU's or mobile GPU's, and consoles when gaming at "4K", it's just a shame they didn't bring it our 12 months ago as there is the need with current gpu pricing and availability.
Cheapest 6800 XT for awhile:
Finally some trajectory back to normalcy.
That is a card that 4k Gamers can appreciate.
Worth trying to flog off my 5700xt for a 6700xt at very minimal money loss?
been following the FB marketplace and they're still fetching $1k (5700xt)
6700xt are around the $1.1k mark brand new and stock is plentiful.
Definitely worth it if you mainly want to play games, still fine for mining just slightly lower hash rate
HUB cover this exact thought in this video. TLDW - Yes, almost a free upgrade.
I might try and give it a go on Marketplace/Gumtree and see what bites i get.
AMD cards generally seem in stock.. 6700xt and 6800 and 6800xt .. Still a premium. But 6800 are available for less than some 6700xts.
Has anyone done the BIOS/More Power Tool mod to enable Rage mode on the 6800?
I've noticed it can be done here:
So installed the 6900XT (Powercolor Red Devil Ultimate) last night and ran some benchies (haven't done that in many years! ). It's a big beastie and didn't do my measurements quite right so had to move a front fan to fit it into my mATX case, but it's in now!
Overclocked of course as well.
2655 on the core, 1175 Vcore, Power Limit +15%
2150 on the Memory, fast timings
CPU is OC'd at 4.8GHz
The autoOC function had the Mem up to 2240, but have had 1 hard crash to date so may have been pushing a bit much, although not sure if it was GPU related or something else.
Another 500 more pts on Timespy and i'd hit the world record for 9600k's!
Someone tell me I'm stupid please - I'm considering upgrading my 6800 reference (which was $950) for a 6900XT red devil ($2,500). I know it doesn't make sense. Someone tell me.
You have a Dark Hero and 5950x, it would be rude, perhaps even a borderline criminal act, to not have the flagship GPU in there with them.
Hope this helps.
Hmm, you make a strong point.
It is a monster card though, need to rejig my build into a new case before I can experience mine properly with my new C1
Must not do it...
Must not do it...
It's not working ... I'm still considering it
haha, yeah i dithered on pulling the trigger on the 6900XT, but in my excuse, I was limping along on a 1060, so it was a decent upgrade leap.
Just do it, I'm pretty happy with it even though it was an outrageous amount of money to spend on a GPU!
And of course my totally unnecessary plans to upgrade my case to show it off are already underway.
You just want to copy my rig part for part. C'mon... admit it.
Works perfectly with the AW3821DW!
