There’s even 20% off the 6900xt at Shopping Express. If I wasn’t fully loaded I’d be looking at an xtxh model for under $2400..

    I know right!
If you look at who has the highest graphics 1 gpu score in Oz for 1440p TimeSpy on 6800xt and 6900xt, maybe you know of me already ;)

Hoping for a crazy arse amount of supplies... but don't think it will happen.

Good to see ASRock with a mitx model.

$379 for a 1080p only card ouch, $50 dearer than the 12gb 3060 that can do 1440p as well. Even if ends up 10% faster than a 3060 (6700xt is ~22% faster than a 3060), that's hard to recommend. Of course to be fair MSRPs don't mean a lot...

Yeah price should be the same as the 3060. Then you have the choice of faster 1080p, or better 1440p support.

    1080p only card... what?

If anyone really wants to be playing 1440p on a 6600xt, they'll be making sacrifices for performance before 8gb even limits them

I think it's a good thing this card is launching in a silly pricing landscape, this way the market gets to determine where it fits in

It's not 1080p only, but a 1080p targeted card as referenced by the marketing. I agree the vram isn't an issue for 1440p, the performance of the card itself will be the limiting factor. I don't think it should be more expensive than a 3060 either though given the feature set of nvidia's cards. Of course the landscape there is evolving with FSR on the scene (though dlss is still the superior product currently).

I'm expecting that with 1/3 the infinity cache of the 6700xt and a 128bit memory bus vs 192bit it is really only going to work at 1080p well, but happy to be wrong if reviews show it working well there.
Gamersnexus posted a decent overview of the launch, noted that part of the msrp price rise is that gddr6 has doubled in price. Also there won't be any reference boards for sale at launch like the 6700xt/6800xt etc just AIB models.

Good point on the GDDR6 price rise. Maybe if the memory prices drop we can get a sku price drop as well. With RDNA3 not due until next year, these RDNA sku's will be in the market for a fair while.

Well, finally got around to finishing my team red build (specs in sig). Ended up deciding to mount the 6900XT horizontally, and using the Lian Li antisag bracket thing. It's a good bit of gear.

How stealthy is that gpu support bracket, highly underrated imo. Looks great man!

Yeah, for sure! And for $12, too. It's excellent. Works really well - I had to dremel it a bit as you suggested, and all good.

Thanks for the tip about using 24-pin cable combs for the GPU cables too :D

Yeah that bracket does look good, better than the cable ties I'm currently using .

Quick google shows people complaining about that bracket not working great, either not supporting the card, not letting the card sit in the slot completely or not fitting the board at all.

Yeah, I can see it may not work with some cards and motherboards. The standoffs to get it up above the components below (in my case mostly the SATA ports) make it sit up fairly high.
Pretty sure the shroud of my GPU is either just touching it or very close to touching it.

No issues for me, apart from having to dremel a bit of the support arm off a bit, as it was touching one of the GPU fans. Just had to make it a bit shorter.
