I've noticed lately a few retailers have reduced lines on all the RX series cards. Those that are left seem to be heavily discounted too.

I'm wondering are they clearing stock for a new release or am I reading too much into it? Something is definitely up with the supply side of things with these cards.

Has anyone else noticed the same?

Possibly another Polaris refresh once again? This time with 12nm and considering Nvidia does not look that they are going to release 2060 anytime soon.

Looking at the AMD architecture road map 7nm Vega will come then 7nm Navi.

Just in the last week though the RX cards have been heavily discounted everywhere it seems. Or maybe this is a response to the RTX launch?

7nm Vega will not be consumer cards, so I've heard.

These kind of price cuts almost always happen before a new product, no? Maybe Polaris refresh is happening after all.

Looks like it, yeah. 12nm refresh of Polaris, pretty soon.

Navi is a long way off, sadly. I guess gutting your consumer GPU section has some side effects...

I've been looking at buying a RX580 8GB.. cheapest price so far has been Scorptec @ $399.. Thanks for the heads up, at that price I may even grab one. Strix is a winner for me too, the Scorptec one is an MSI Armor, not an MSI fan.

Just bought a RX 570 4gb Strix from Umart for $209. It overclocks like a champ and runs great. 1470 core 2100 memory with reduced voltages. This pins core clock at 1470 without throttling. Very happy with it for the price!

I am really tempted to get this: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/409944#comment-6485700

MSI Air Boost Vega 56 OC, $440 to replace my r9 290 Sapphire Tri-x. Im currently running game sin either 2560x1440 or 3440x1440, I am not fussed about ultra settings so medium or mostly high would be preferred. I also have a Silverstone FT02 and a OCed ryzen 1700, I think being a blower it would greating pushing as much hot air outta the case.

Anyway, has anyone got any experience with these cards? I am thinking of undervolting/overclocking it to make it run more optimal as well. Basically after all the discounts with vouchers etc that I have piled up, itll cost me around $350 for a brand new card and not need to worry about warranty or dud 2nd hand cards. Its really more of a stop gap before I will do a proper upgrade say some 2020 or end of 2019. The r9 290 is not the best when running some more demanding games at 3440x1440 and would really like something decent come Division 2 is out in March.

Oh also note that card will include the AMD Raise the game promo: https://www.amd.com/en/where-to-buy/raise-the-game
    1. Assassin’s Creed® Odyssey
    2. Strange Brigade
    3. Star Control®: Origins.

Which I am hoping are sellable.

At that price, I'd grab it and put the savings towards a custom loop for the Ryzen and the Vega 56. Bargain.

So what happened to this Polaris "refresh" cards that was rumoured to be prepped for launch in Oct 2018?

So the RX 590 seems to be a slight increase over the 580. That being said, im checking the usual suspects and finding it hard to find Vega 64's. 56 seems to still be around, but definitely getting scarce....
