Grain of salt of course! :p

**These new parts really should be 40nm from recent leaks.

Interesting if true. ATI ideally need to do something to counter nvidia upcoming offerings.

I'd like to see you somehow dissipate almost 450w efficiently :p Lol card doesn't even meet power specifications right now, so make the card a little more realistic ;) I'm more concerned with the new nvidia dual card. Without the optional metal cooktop for extracting the heat to cook our nerd food, the heat will only end up melting the paint off the back wall from the computer to which it blows to :D

I can believe it as when RV770/R700 specs were leaked like 6 months before release they still turned up true.

Sometimes it closer than people expect...but as with everything like this, take it with a "grain of salt"

Yah every now and then you get a few that as close to what the final product is.

those are crap.... first off ATI is PAD limited at 55nm ( they had to add more ALU's then the orignal spec just to get the die size big enough) the other thing i would also say is that 40nm chips will hit the market in Q1, many "souces" :p on the web have said that 40nm chips are at the FAB right now.

why change the ALU : TEX ratio's for a card that clock for clock is going to be almost identical to RV770? that just killed a lot of the last 6-8months of driver optimisations.......

Yah, 40nm has been talked about quite a bit, i'd be surprised to see it come early 2009, but most information points to some parts coming out during the Q1.

there seems to be about a 2 to 3 month lead time ( assuming nothing goes R600) once chips hit the FAB's, so could be late feb early march release.

GDDR5 is quad pumped. GDDR3 is double pumped

edit: oh and I don't think there will be a massive difference over the current 4870/50 line. No point upgrading for this refresh if you have a 4870/50 or gtx260/280 already.

Things are looking good for my next card purchase! :)

They should do very well against the upcoming Nvidia parts (the GTX265/285).
The RV775XT should be very competitive against the GTX285 going by the early info.
