    Some mental gymnastics from fan boys and intcels about how zen 4 is going to be twice as fast as zen 3 when the benchmarks are all fud and even if that video they mentioned keeping 200w 5.5ghz 16c32t cool is a nightmare which I agree I just don't see it I think real world it will be around 5.5ghz 175w maybe 20%+ faster no idea if it will run on Windows 7 lol

    Without derailing from that vid Win 7 gets lower fps (even in older titles) and no access to DX12?

    You do what you want but I'm sticking with Win 10 for the moment, 11 soon though :D

    This is my own thoughts on it as well, I see it as better labeling rather entirely new segments.
    With X670E it's easier to work out if it's going to support 5.0 or not and there's no new additions to boards here, the variants shown existed for X570 as well.

    There will always be board with everything you can want/need (Godlike, Extreme(s) etc) so this isn't really a change from what's being offered, just better labeling for them.

    Depends on the game. Fortnite got DX12 on Win 7. But yeah, in general its a no go.

    True, I believe WoW also got it as well?

    But as a general rule no option, at least there's Vulkan :)

    Yeah that rings a bell.

    Speaking of Vulkan, saw this the other day. A 'toy' Vulkan renderer written in Rust. Demo is running on 6800XT at 1080p;

    Who needs raytracing?!? :p

    yeah DX12 works on Win7, there are no comparability issues. It was just held back to only make win10 look better and lure people into win10.

    Blizzard asked Microsoft to work on win7 as a large portion of their player base was on win7 and well, Blizzard was a large enough player that they said yes. So Blizzard games, if they need dx12 will work with dx12 on win 7. Including World of Warcraft.

    a 6700k is a very nice chip.

    though i would rather pick up a 2nd gen ryzen with a cheap board and ram for the same price and have 50% better performance and lower power consumption.

    well, wait 6 months and spend some cash on a ryzen AM5 socket system.

    or you could get an AM4 system really cheap very soon.

    Another one from Ian;

    Along with the L2 cache and cpu frequency improvements, it could add up to a decent overall uplift, depending on the workload you are interested in.

    AMD has also stated that they have something special cooked up for DDR5.
