Do "more" with less, meh. Things like checkerboard rendering, upscaling and dynamic res are poor substitutes for raw power. To degrade the picture to boost frames is just a trick nothing more.

Optimisations and shortcuts have always underpinned the ability of all consumer GPU to render as many pixels as they do. Whether or not the loss of visual quality is perceptible is the critical issue.

This is the difference between lazy reviewers who just chuck a card in a rig and spew out a few graphs, and the professional ones who design specific comparison tests to examine potential issues (such as whether FP16 imprecision degrades VQ where it's used)

Interesting, apparently Vega is killing it at compute so nvidia just boosted the titan Xp compute performance by up to 3x in Maya etc via driver update....

and of course it plays games really well :D

Vega seems like it wasn't exactly designed to game, not like the older architectures anyway, it can do it but, probably more for professional use.

What are the chances that now we have Vega (or will soon) that we'll see more damn Freesync monitors?

haha, im still intrigued by AMD tech though. Always have been. i reckon the next 12 months will be interesting no matter how this lineup performs.

I bet you the FreeSync Market will flood.

especially if microsoft/amd's vision of getting it into tv's comes to fruition. they are banking that One X will be able to benefit from FS2.

yeah could be good thing for AMD for sure. Pity i have no interest in the MS consoles i never sort of have. Probably the controller i never liked or the exclusives.

Of late i have hooked up my PS4 onto my UW but the TV is better for the console i still reckon.

I'm very interested in the technology used and potential non gaming application / future gaming applications! Not getting me very excited for gaming though, I'll stick with the green team for that this year.

I hook my PS4 up to my main monitor to use the wheel setup on GT Sport, it doesn't look as bad as I thought

Like latest reviews that include FuryX....... in the games I run (Battlefield 1 predominantly) is between 1070 and 1080. Not bad for 2 year old card and very nice with freesync.

AdoredTV did a video about Vega, makes some good points about the value with the 56.

Edit, take this with a mass amount of salt but, from Tweak Town RX Vega 56 leaked benchmarks.

Yeah same, seems like it'll be the best value / performance.

Interesting results if they turn out to be accurate, competition is good, specially in the mid range segment.

    :)
