Vega 56 is by far the best value for money card for 1440p or lower gaming. The cards are monsters for mining as well. So all up, it turned out pretty good I'd say?

Not quite! still playing with mine.

Perhaps interesting observation.. Not sure if it's been mentioned. It seems the 64 Bios has loser HBM subtimings @ a given clock compared to 56. Hashrate dropped at same clock after flash, as did some 3dmark tests.

It doesn't do anything other then let you use more power and possibly change memory timings like majord said.

Hmm, interesting. So 56 bios can only clock mem to 950MHz on my card and 1050MHz with 64 bios....so at same clock speed of let's say 1600Mhz with 950MHz mem tighter timings and 1050Mhz mem looser timings which will win???? :Pirate:............more testing I guess :wired:

Edit; from past reading I seem to recall that the bump in mem frequency from 950 to 1050Mhz yielded quite substantial gains so wouldn't that mean that the 56 is better off flashed to the 64 running at the same core frequency but with the extra mem frequency :tongue:

download the new version of gpuz, click on sensors and load up Heaven benchmark and watch the GPU Hot spot sensor. i loaded the hell out of the gpu and got it to 74 degrees while gpu temp showed 40, with my full cover block. GPU hotspot while playing BF1 was 54max.

I hope she fires the entire marketing department in his absence.

Hopefully she does do something about the marketing because Vega was a massive cluster fuck and an embarrassment to the company as a whole.

According to some dude named buildzoid suggesting the Vcore voltage will follow the HBM Memory voltage if it is higher.

Whoever came up with the bundle crap and the discounts and then deciding that it was only for very specific bundles, at specific retailers, in specific regions... otherwise you pay out the arse, they should be fired.

If they hire another 1000 people to work on the drivers and firmware for the cards, I'd think they have a clear winner. But atm its difficult to say given the huge amounts of power usage just to beat a 1080 reference card by a couple percent.

AIB cards are taking far too long to come to market, I hope there is some good ones like custom boards with reduced size. Perhaps something like the FuryX for cooling, nice and small and effective (except for the motor whine issue due to it going too high RPM)
