This thread has been great, first when there were no facts about Vega out, it was all Vega will suck and be shit, no way it can match a 1080. Now benchmarks shows it can match and beat a 1080 the talk turned to g-sync vs freesync.

At some point I am sure we will get around to discussing the actual title of the thread with actual facts instead of made up bullshit.

Not much of a victory if Vega only manages to match the performance of a card that's already over a year old.

Yeah this thread is a joke most of the time, least Jester isn't on here yet .

Basically but at least AMD has something that can compete with it, remember RX Vega will be the first high end card in 2 years for them.

I think Navi is where it's going to get interesting but doubt that'll be out till 2019 by the looks of things.

Well it depends on pricing but its also ahead of the 1080 and sits between the 1080 and the TI.

If prices and performances match the GTX 1080 then it's a good product. Let's just wait and see approach.

No, it's not. Check the 3d mark11 thread and you'll see most GTX 1080 hit 33-34k graphic score.

Yes but does that thread have a comparison to the RX. So far the only comparison shows the RX ahead of it.

How about we wait till the RX Version is actually released before we start bashing it?

Like I keep saying we have no clue what AMD have done to it, it could be exactly the same as the FE or there could be slight tweaks done to make it better in games.

The recent 3dmark11 for Vega is actually the real gaming RX Vega since the score is way ahead of the FE Vega. The big question mark is that an O/C benchmark or stock. I seriously doubt that's a stock benchmark. I reckon AMD need the RX Vega to run 1800mhz to beat an O/C gtx 1080.

    Why compare OC results?
We should only compare stock for stock results etc

Do you think the RX Vega running 1630mhz is stock? If it is, it'll need to run at least 1800mhz to compete with an O/C 1080. Can Vega run @1.8ghz?

AMD have done wee, performance wise it's between a 1080 and a 1080 ti... Problem is $1899 from PLE... Way to expensive.

What? The RX model that sits between the 1080 and 1080 TI isn't 1900, that's the FE version. The FE was never meant to be a gaming consumer card.

Go and see how a FuryX currently performs in latest reviews of newer cards. Add the difference and that is likely where the vega will be in games at stock clocks.

No one knows how it will overclock yet. We have only seen the Frontier running on stock pleb air.

Jesus christ this thread is a shitfight. So much talk based on nothing. We don't have specs or anything concrete on RX Vega yet people are trying to talk performance. How bout we just discuss what we know or nothing at all?

I'm hoping for Vega RX to be really good and above 1080 with a really good price tag on it. This would make AMD fans happy as well as nvidia fans, it would force nvidia to release the 20x0 refresh sooner. so Win-Win.

I want it to smash 1080Ti by at least 50%.
Lots of us waiting waiting for GPU's to catch up to 4K.. Cries in 4k 15fps. :thumbdn:
