I just want the RX version above the 1080, it'd be a miracle if it could beat the TI which wont happen unless AMD have seriously tweaked the shit out of it.

If your getting 15fps with a 1080ti at 4k then your doing something really really wrong!

That's odd, I was talking to someone recently (yesterday) who still says he gets $5usd per day from his 1080gtx cards. I would assume he is using nicehash which is not exclusive to Eth mining (it picks the best one). So perhaps NVIDIA cards have now moved onto zcash or something.

The issue in some areas is the power company's only charge them 5cents or so a unit so mining will always be profitable in those areas, sadly this part of the world has NEVER seen such cheap power so I doubt we will sell out of Vega cards which are crap for watt vs mining power.

If idiots do buy them up for mining here in Australia you can bet your ass they will be selling them within a month.

Yep, runs like shit on my current rig with medium settings, 25 - 35 if I'm lucky.

Really want someone to run it with Vega.

Edit, with the mining, ethereum is going Proof of Stake in a few months so it'll basically be useless to mine, should lessen the demand on cards hopefully.

Value is going to shit. It is already easier to get good value cards on newegg etc. Boom is over aussie retailers will drop prices in 12 months to maximise the ripoff.

So what do you guys think of the 3 supposed versions of the RX Vega and the fact AMD are taking the RX on a tour before it's released?

Seems fitting with what Apple are using in the iMacs. Very keen to see these AiB versions VS a 1080/ti and what price!!! this mining shit is making it hard to make judgement on prices.

From what I'm seeing the wait for the AiB ones could be another month after the AMD release, rumour is the AiB's are getting BIOS's on the 2nd of August .

Personally I just want an AIO version that doesn't cost an arm and a leg, 3 display ports and is at least 5% better then a 1080 @ 1440p.

Prices should level out soonish, Ethereum is going POS (Proof-of-Stake) before or on November 1st which means you can't mine it. Hopefully this bites a few people in the ass :leet:.

yeah i have seen the prices dropping so i guess the money making threshold will soon catch up when it starts to cost them to much to run VS profits.

    How does that make sense?

It needs to be at least $100 cheaper then a 1080.

    Nvidia has:
    Great day 1 game support
Better global game support in less popular games, older games or software
Gsync is much better then Freesync, that gap might be closing but we'll see
    PhysX
    Asynchronous Reprojection in VR
    Multi-Res Shading
    Lens Matched Shading
    Single Pass Stereo
Shadowplay, so much better and less resource intensive then AMD's solution.

Why would you pay the same for an AMD card?

I wonder if they'll just move to other altcoins though so demand won't drop?

Surely the other markets will get flooded and take a hit with more people

I have a FreeSync screen so AMD win the choice.
The rest of your list is meaningless to me.

I'm not saying you shouldn't buy it, I'm just pointing out that a Vega for a similar price as a 1080 is a rip off.

Gsync/Freesync make you get stuck with one side or the other.

You make it sound like no one should ever buy an AMD card.
