only a year or two late, a big FU indeed. Been waiting for them to get competitive if they are only at 1080Ti levels, they aren't. :(

Aww come on! 1080 Ti performance for under $250 US. RTX 2080 series rip off is a joke for the price they are charging.

Might not take the performance king crown but it undeniably sticks it to Nvidia as far as price vs performance goes without doubt.

Yeah if you could get 2080 performance for what the GTX1060 costs, NVIDIA would surely have to have a huge price crash... IF

it's more likely that retailers will bump the card up in price to the same level as the matching nvidia sku. we all remember the last amd product this happened to right?

Unless AMD enforce the RRP. Their production of chips at 7nm may be so outstanding both in terms of efficiency and cost that they will want high turn over and a lower enforced price will deliver that provided consumer demand....and looking at theoretical cost to performance predicted ratio that alone should ensure that. Win win to AMD the retailer and the consumer.

Could that have had something to do with the extra demand from mining?

Anyway, it is way to early to be getting hopes up about what amd might deliver next year. They have a history of late of not delivering on the hype

    they can't enforce diddly squat.

if supply is low and demand is high (price is good) they'll sell like hotcakes and retailers will bump the prices up accordingly.

I'll bet they squat diddly in suggesting it though. Anyway, I hope for consumer sake it does play out along these lines to some degree, heck the way it's been going with Nvidia and Intel's pricing schemes is just the theatre of the absurd! FFS $2000 + AUS for a RTX 2080 Ti and $4000 AUS for a RTX Titan, gimme a bloody break.

Also fast paced FPS at 144mh + refresh rate really is superior at 1080p compared to bigger monitors eg; 32" as you don't have to turn your head to try and view all the action. RPG's of course are ok on bigger screens as usually they are a slower paced experience and and over the top frames per second aren't as important as they are to first person online pvp shooters.

How close do you sit to your screen? I don't have to move my head to play overwatch on my 27in 1440p/144hz panel...

Around 32" away from the screen is pretty much normal and I do mean 32" monitors more so that 27". At around 32" away from the screen the noticeable difference between viewing scope between 24" and 32" is pretty perceptible.

i still remember when Vega was supposed to be cheaper and amazing because of fancy memory, ended up running hot as fuck, was slower and sold through way over RRP.

    breath also not held.
