yeah just fund that, it is by far the most interesting one beast my oc 6700k by 200 odd points but loses by...i think is about 30 points in single threaded.
but that's stock. and mine is OC :)

The 1600x is really shaping up as the bargain chip if it clocks well for gaming(depending on what the landing prices are of course.

They also mentioned as i thought there will be 2 versions of the X one with the wraith one without.
I will be getting the one with the cooler *just* in case i can't find a good AIO at launch...or corsair don't come to the party for my h110.

the firestrike scores are also pretty interesting...stupid benchmark but always been an intel thing....nice to see amd have cleaned up the room for it :)
the 1700X at *just* 4 gig is pretty damn special.

What i want to see is how dx12 vulkan and things like timespy etc go.

As for the motherboards if they land at that sort of pricing i would be pretty pleased.

    http://www.staticice.com.au/cgi-bin/search.cgi?q=MSI++XPOWER+Gaming+Titanium&spos=1

since the z270 is landing at around $550 ...if they shave even $50 off that teamed with the cheap cpu....no brainer.

    just saw this

    http://www.vtechindustries.com.au/catalog/product/view/id/35325/category/2252/

so corsair will play ball :)

but as the add says....wait there is more

    http://www.vtechindustries.com.au/catalog/product/view/id/43579/category/2252/

    bam :)

No itx spotted yet? Any indication yet if these things run hot?

Also, other than high base clocks why would you buy a 1700x or 1800x over a 1700? Is there a difference that the specs dont show? Binning?

    Nice finds!

I've been looking over all the benches so far and things are looking pretty good :)

Biostar has an ITX in the works and there will be ITX at launch from what I'm hearing

Somewhere between $350 and $400 for the Hero, NDA lifts on the 28th and on sale the 2nd.

Performance is looking like Haswell- Broadwell IPC with better MT capability than Intel currently has, 4.4Ghz on big air and 4.8Ghz on Water/high end AIO :p

I want to see a RoG Formula or extreme. None of the other boards really interest me.

Or a Ryzen based Workstation board!!! Now that would be epic. Just sold my Z170-WS so something of equal caliber would be awesome.

I'd be willing to bet we'll see a Formula or Extreme with a PLX chip.

an X370-WS would be pretty kickass too

Bit of a shame there's no Biostar distribution in Aus. Some of there budget stuff looks OK.

Is there a graph like that with 1700 etc in it?

That's really amazing when you look at the Watts of the CPU's around it.

I was aiming for the 1600X.. but not sure if i want the 1700X..

Will those 2 core/ 4 threads make much difference...

    same guy posted ST score,

several sources now have said CB15 ST is around the 140-150mark depending on turbo clocks,

    Sgt, hit mspaint again! hah

Assuming that's the 1600X that means a 3.7 Turbo clock.

    6800k has a turbo of 3.6Ghz to reach 150

so it's a hair off Broadwell IPC for ST and above for MT, does that mean AMD did SMT better than Intel? o_O

I know it's alot of graphs etc......I'm kinda sorry :upset:

    <3 Graphs personally :p

Re' SMT, well , No not IMO. I tried to spur this discussion on Anand forums before in response to the rejection of idea that Zen may just have better SMT 'yield' than Intel. What some don't seem to see, is better Yield is not an indication of 'doing SMT better', rather Zen's architecture still favors Throughput over ST performance, despite the later being significantly improved. The distributed Integer Schedulers, continued Segregation of Integer and FP pipelines, are all in stark contrast to Intel's unified approach throughout.

AMD's original IPC uplift claim (40%) was for Single threaded performance. and my own tests showed, this would put IPC in the Ivy to Haswell level.

So if Zen has higher SMT yield on average, then guess what.. It means MT performance would be above this, hence why we're seeing closer to Broadwell perf/clock in MT

stock...remember that ...stock and a lot on ES chips and older boards.
intel has had...well quite awhile to tweak the platform.
look at the rx 480 hell even my fury x....tweak a few drivers and things start kicking...introduce amd specific programming (vulkan in regards to gpu) and even better....intel has it it all it's way for too long.

    VIVA LE REVOLUTION
    :)

As for chips i am hoping for a 1800x and a nice board maybe not a kabillion dollar one...not that rich but a nice long lasting one.

all my amd systems are still running and still going strong even after....3 / 5 years so i can easily expect to get a long time out of the new one.

either way what i suggest is someone make up a chart now.
throw in a pile of benches for everyone to run now.

we throw in the figures then when it drops we have a nice close approximation of what to expect.

One thing i have noticed....no one seems to be leaking power figures....at all.

This si a little puzzling, you would think someone would throw something into the pot to help spice the troll soup :p

Assuming i upgrade the CPU at all, I won't be getting a top end MB.
All i want is plenty of connectivity options.. mostly lots of USB
all my drives are still SATA so no NEED for any of the new interfaces.. but it would be nice to have 1 of each? for future upgrade when the SSD dies etc..
