you just need 3 ratings: hate it, meh, and love it!

Or four like ACG, Buy, Wait for a Sale, Rent or Never Touch it Again.

numerical ratings aren't the best IMHO.

Yeah ACG didn't like it overall. Needs more time in the oven and then playerbase drops..

I don't think it deserves to be completely shitcanned. It has some insane PvE combat which is where the game shines and is pushing boundaries.

The main issue I have is Fort Tarsis, having to grind out freeplay for the story campaign and loading screens new patch didn't seem to improve loading times for me at all on an SSD...

Which sounds like alot, but in theory could be fixed with patches, if EA allow it.

Wait.. what on earth was I playing then? Because my version of Anthem was the exact opposite to that.

Not sure how flying around shooting sponges and doing fetch quests is "pushing boundaries"

i saw someone defending the launch state of these looter shooters (Destiny, Division, this) and yah know no just no - I won't reward a game that releases and then "becomes the game it was always meant to be" after a large paid expansion - fuck that noise. Destiny did this shit twice and people not only forgave them but were happy about it twice.

I don’t think it’s as bad as people make it out to be. It’s still quite fun and I don’t feel like I’ve wasted money.

When destiny 2 came out I felt the same. Everyone raged. Wife and I finished it then played borderlands and then next season came out and we smashed destiny 2 again. Only haven’t played last season cos she’s in taiwan with baby at the moment. But when she comes back we will smash anthem and destiny2 again.

I’m happy I can run it on my 970! Might hold out longer on a 2070.

    For release anyway.

I'm completely happy with people liking Anthem, but only if they say they like it 1-2 months after release.

If you guys monitor Steam games like I do, you'll know its normal practice for a bad game to start out with "positive" or "mostly positive" and then 1-2 months after become "mixed".

Games these days give the illusion of being good, that people often see through in 1-2 months.

Am I tho? I don't buy any in-game things so after the up front payment I don't make any additional payments, but I continue getting fun out of the game.

    do you buy the expansions?

i don't 100% agree with this, what i don't like is a game that is released and it's clearly not ready - but this is the current trend.

    early access aaa.

Pushing boundaries is a nice way of saying putting up with buggy shit.

seriously i hate that the game doesn't have a resolution scaler like BFV or any other frostbite game.

EDIT: OK the game just hard crashed my PC and it rebooted itself....WTF?

Pretty much like in the video below but not at the menu, it was in-game

Appears lots of people having different crashing issues. Hope I don't experience any of that.

Working from the same manual as DICE. Looks like EA is doing everything they can to stuff things up.

People will soon think F that when they see the EA marker.

I played for 4 hours this morning until it booted me from the server and I have up. I enjoy the gameplay and I'm enjoying the story and characters, but the UI, infrastructure and technical issues just drove me to quit and leave it til they've patched it.

Like the rubber banding and jarring melee target locking that seems to teleport me around randomly.

Also the networking and forced matchmaking - or inability to run a private party - are just complete garbage in a game like this.

Really disappointed after I enjoyed the gameplay so much in the beta.
