I don't even remember Siege being this bad. Maybe the turnaround was so good that they made it forgettable.

I'm the same though, I was hyped.

With the revamp of 'Anthem NEXT' being talked up as recently as a month ago, it still comes as zero surprise that the project is cancelled. The game will be left running in it's current state - whilst BioWare turns their 'laser focus' onto new titles (and by new titles I mean new installments of the rather tired Dragon Age & Mass Effect franchises).

Reasons given for the decision were vague, which pretty well sums up the entire exercise to begin with, plus some lip flapping from executive producer Christian Dailey about covid & difficult times etc yadda yadda.

So there we have it - one of the more interesting & promising titles finally ends with a whimper and becomes a cautionary tale told to scare young game devs.

Seems there's a lot of it going around. Anthem, Fallout 76, Cyberpunk 2077.

Pitch and aim high, fall short.

Still, I'm disappointed even if I knew this was the logical conclusion.
