    No wrong again.

    Correlation does not imply causation

You again make assumptions about an engine on a few specific games that you've played.

You've mentioned frostbite that only EA can use, and you've also mentioned source, a very old and polished engine that lacks the majority of modern features games require.

Do you want to stop making a fool of yourself?

    Go here https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Unreal_Engine_games

Play all the Unreal Engine 4 games listed, or at least half.

Record different game features each game uses (Physics simulation, crowds, dynamic shadows etc)
    Record FPS
Record limitations (Loading screens, unrealistic things, obvious shortcuts/hacks to make things work, etc)

    And then provide some statistics

Then do the same with another engine.

Then you can make a comment that an entire engine is bad.

Wow guys settle down. We can make and discuss some observations without going to the scientific level here, we are not writing a paper that will be submitted for peer review rather a "friendly" comp enthusiast BB!

Okay, so tell me what you think using Frostbite would have done to PUBG and Fortnite, what exactly about Frostbite means they would magically be better on it?

Clunky Movement? Heard of a game called "Anthem". What was that built on again?

Havent played failnite enough to comment but PUBG has a clunky feeling and it isn't intentional, its also in other shooters on the engine like Insurgency Sandstorm (another poorly optimised UE4 game) hard to articulate exactly what is going on.. Many people who play PUBG often ponder how good it would have been in frostbite over UE4. I know Benno1988 is one of em.

Anthem is just a rushed early access title and fail all round. (downloading slowly as we speak :p)

Not going to reply to bart5986's rubbish post. I am allowed to hate UE4 engine games and I am not alone, maybe some are great but I generally have a sour taste after playing a lot of UE4 games and its usually optimisation. Perhaps its the dev's faults but seems to be a correlation between low fps and UE4. Fortnite looks 5 years old and has FPS dips now on high end gear (or at least did recently) and that's developed by owners of engine! Also who builds a modern engine not allowing AFR..

    Lets all calm down.

I propose we all get into a server and fight to the death. Winner assumes the role of God of this thread, and all they say shall be taken as truth.

    :lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol:

PUBG and Insurgency both go for realism. It is intentional!

Realistic shooter games use this "clunky" movement because thats what is realistic in real life.

Unreal engine has nothing to do with this.

I'm seriously laughing right now. :D

So you just replied to my post. Woops?

Stop embarrassing yourself and making up random things.

I'll probably lose though, I'm terrible at Apex late game.

So... Who here is enjoying Apex? :D

My last 2 matches last night were great fun!
On one, hot dropped, had 2 of my team mates downed in the first minute, I took out one squad, made my way to pick up the 2 banners and res'd my team (bangalore's smoke saved me), ended up coming second place after that.
The other, I was making fun of the guy who had TTV in his name, but he ended up being really good, and might I say carried us to 2nd place (again, so close!)

I'm still having to remember which AR's are burst. I get screwed over thinking I can full auto in a fight only to have 3 -5 rounds on 1 click :p

Oh so all the Insurgency players in the official forums whinging of clunky feeling going from Source to UE4 is added realism the devs adding realism without noting is a feature? strange.

Nothing made up here dude, look up season 6 fortnite frame dips. But yes for sake of peace and quiet, UE4 rocks man, SLI is lame who buys >1 GPU?!?!

    This is correct.

To be more specific, it happens because the developers aren't copying the game 1:1, they are creating a new game based on the idea of the old game.

The developers aren't going to ask "Whats the run speed in Insurgency 1?" They will ask, "what run speed works best in Insurgency Sandstorm?"

Apply that to everything else, and you have your answers.

And if you ask me, I like the changes in Insurgency Sandstorm.

Yeah really enjoying it, the pacing is fun, enough tactics to make you use your brain but fun enough not to be just sniper killed every turn. The heros make for another slight layer of differentiation which I don't mind. Not a game that takes it self too seriously and is a lot of fun.

Came top 4 about 5 games in a row, friend crashed and called it quits so we had a rando for the 3rd. In the end he was a nice talkative guy and we won inspite of my potato and his potato aim. We just had the most amazing position the whole game, last 2 rings were basically on an high floating island with only zip line access which we managed to win and held for the rest of the game..2 snipers up on top of the roof softening the targets having to come up and me with shotty cleaning them up as they did :)

At work but any chance you can post the patch note for the new stuff please?:)

Wouldn't worry about bart, he's just a troll IMO.

I was agreeing with bart for once (normally encounter him in the Star Citizen thread).

I couldnt actually find patch notes, it was a tiny update the night before last.

I'd like to see a bump in the value of the skills. Overall they seem to very mildly affect the game.

    I prefer Apex why ?

    1. Because it's not laggy as fuck like pubg and i don't have to play 3rd person view if i want a chance at a low ping game
    2. It's not shit like fortnight is, I don't like the random building stuff in the game and overly cartoonish style of it.
