Apex Legends F2P battle-royale (Titanfall spin-off)

No building, except for deploying zip lines, drop pods, portals and stuff depending on your class.

If it was full priced, but free to play with extra content/season stuff being added continually will keep pop high, for sure.
They have already talked about extra classes coming, etc.

Most COD4 streamers are praising it, it's like blackout mobility and gunplay with more verticality and tighter action map, with overwatch style classes to learn and master.
Polished too, for day 1 announcement and launch.

PUBG looks like slow, boring and unoptimised in comparison.

 

Any confirmation on local servers ?

 

Mate says the ping feels nice, but not sure he can find an actual in game ping display.

 

You just "find a game", ping feels good. Titanfall 2 engine is smooth as before.
Zero fall damage is nice.

 

I can see it lasting, longer then blackout especially. Free, much better loot system at the very least.

 

I wont lie, Blackout was a disappointment for me, which was odd because I loved the BetA, by release I played it a bit but meh, just didn't cut it for me.
This Apex Legends is ticking a lot of boxes for me from what I have seen, wont have a chance to play it until after my whisky tasting this evening though.

also, BRs aren't my thing but happy to give it a try at least. not sure how me not liking it over siege is a good thing? maybe less competition? LUL

 

grabbing this now. wonder what the xbox one X enhancements are. probably similar spec to PC?

 

the adaptive resolution fps thingy doesn't work.

 

Because you don't seem too impressed by this title, yet you enjoy a game that doesn't really do it for me, so we have different tastes in video games and its likely I will like this.

 

It did for me in titanfall 2, pretty clever tech that.

Lower ambient occlusion should be nice jump in frames.

 

so i set it to 96fps as a test and when i get into the training mode it still shoot above it. I don't get why it's not working for me here but it did in Titanfall 2.

I guess I am just prefer old-school MP modes.

EDIT: apparently Titanfall 3 is cancelled and this is all we get of the Titanfall universe. I guess this was part of EA's plan to monetize the shit out of it because they couldn't do it with single player campaign nor do they believe in story campaigns.

If true that TF3 is cancelled then I don't care for this BR.

 

So if it's fun you don't care for it just cause tf3 might not be made? Petty haha

Id say it will come just not for a bit longer. Tf2 even though great, financially was a flop, might be hard to get go ahead by publisher..

As for adaptive frame rates it doesn't limit frames but tries to keep your minimum at the set value.

 

I'm liking it. Much faster paced than pubg. Won my 4th game.

Only played a few hours, but my one of my mates summed it up well I reckon. "How good is this? It's a game that feels like a game."

Can't see how it's a cash grab. There's no P2W. It's polished and plays well right out of the box. There's innovation too. I've not seen a loot management like this, and it works really well.

 

I'm downloading but perhaps their servers are being smashed? Started at 4-5MB/s, now struggling at 1-2MB/s maybe.

Shroud been playing for a while, maintaining 60k+ viewers...

 

Never played a single BR game and my brief stint has lead me to this conclusion: it's not Tribes or Quake and it feels slow as fuck. If it had Titanfall mobility it would feel so much better speed and traversal wise.

Still would have loved to have seen Titanfall but on a Battlefield scale or greater.

 

I played my first round but im getting horrible lag. It seems as though every 20ish seconds i warp 5 seconds back from where I am.

Edit: turns out it was windows wifi stupidity.
