Currently rocking a 7, had my heart set on upgrading to this new model - but doesn't seem like much has changed over last gen. I think I'll hold out until next year, hopefully Apple pull their finger out and innovate, and include 5G and USB-C.

Why Apple continues to sell 64gb as the base is ridiculous (for the Pro)

i don't know if you are serious with this, but tbh i miss 16 and 32 as base.

they made better work devices, however i don't think storage is even an issue now. the main thing i would like companies to focus on is the speed of the storage not the capacity - but try explaining 64gb of fast storage over 64gb of slow storage to iZombies.

They really seem to be relatively minor iterations over the last model, each year.

You honestly think you can live with 16gb of storage? I know you can store stuff on cloud, but that is ridiculous. After you install a few apps, you'll have next to 0 storage for anything... Unless you plan on taking photos in kB quality

yes, plenty of ppl live with 16gb - not everyone takes many photos.

work devices often only need email and calls. but you know Apple have been ignoring work fleets for a while now.

Exactly, 16gb of storage these days is basically a struggle.

I couldn’t handle 16, 32 is what my current work provided phone is. And I’m sitting with 4gb free.

Majority of that is all photos/videos though. If I could try cloud backups enough I’d want some kind of automatic purging of photos older than 6 months unless theyre favourited.

As for the new iphone. Steaming pile of junk. Am I missing anything (probably)

    Slightly better display
    Latest processor
    Colours
    New wide angle camera

Expensive AF. I’m on an 8 now. Nothing jumps out at me for a justifiable upgrade. Wireless charging perhaps.

Not really anything significant with the Watch as well.

Only good thing about this is the older versions come down in price and more on the second hand market...

They're really playing catch up now. And 64gb is pathetic - the minimum should be 128gb.

Even a 128gb iPhone was too big for me, couldn’t half fill it. Everything is streamed now

So, this iPhone is a stupid release. In addition to the stupidest naming scheme ever (iPhone 11 Pro Max? Seriously?), the only notable feature update is the camera. They spent half their product page detailing how great it was. But I don't know about you guys, but I don't use my phone primarily for photography, and even the photos I do take don't need to be professional quality by a long shot, what I use my photos for. And like you mentioned, the colours. I mean, come on. How is this an innovation at this point. They even removed one of my favourite features, 3D touch. So in fact, this iPhone is a step down from the XS for me, since I don't use the camera to its full potential and don't need 20 hours of battery life or whatever the increase was.

having no 5G means this is an intermediate release anyway.

Just like the $1500 Pro Monitor Stand? Apple have learned that fans like the word "Pro" and are happy to pay through the nose for supposed "Professional" grade gear, makes them feel good?
Even though real professionals would hardly use the phone for photography work.

Another minor iteration, the colours part was laughable.

youtubers and instagrammers eat it up.

but credit where it's due their cameras and phones ARE good, they just aren't worth what people think they are. there's a reason apple are pivoting to other revenue streams.

Eh, ill probably upgrade from my 6S. But a lot of that is because Im stuck with a 16gb 6S for now. Probably just go for the 11, over the 11 Pro. Unless JB/Telstra come out with some good plans for it.
