Dark and Darker did specifically this. it didn't save the game though.

edit : also your whole shpeal about pve ruining the game is nonsense. And like i said , im a PVP enjoyer, i dont enjoy PVE, but im not ignorant enough to believe MOST gamers these dont days enjoy PVE more ( they do ), it doesnt really ruin anything. some people just dont like getting rekt by players.

Game is fun. I know that's a strange concept sometimes! But I'm having a blast. Despite BF6 being my big, hyped game of the year, I also haven't touched in since having a quick break to play this.

Just play it and enjoy, or don't and go play something else. It's all good.

Solo is essentially a PVE experience 90% of the time I've played it so far - use prox chat, make friends, run around in groups helping each other and you get left alone as the sweats want to PVP when in pre made squads. In that regard it's been like playing two totally separate game modes, when the only real difference is whether there are people in your squad or not.

Even squads haven't been very PVP, had a group of 3 revive me after the aliens downed me and we all went extraction together, i had good loot too.
From the solid days play i can say the city map has more PVP and it's certainly made for it, use the other maps you'll see very little.

Those leapers are one of the coolest in game NPC AI i've ever seen. Jumps from half a kilometre away and lands on the edge of the building and just climbs over to murder you, they handle the terrain so well.

Probably one of the neat things about the game is how different it can be in experiences. For me, trios are like 3/4 encounters turn into fights. Especially on the bigger fourth map but plenty of fighting on the first dam map too. Biggest fights were on the buried city map though, you are right there, it's quite small and lots of places to sneak up around people. My first trio fight there was massive - right at the start we lost our 3rd to bots, then couldn't get the res as another team were between us. We managed to aggro a rocketeer nearby who did all the work and took out the entire enemy team but by then our teammate bled out! Brought all the other teams running over, we must have killed 9 more players between us until we got done by another team whilst trying to loot all the bodies

I'm sure it's not always the case though and the awesome thing about prox chat and emotes is you can often defuse a fight and go your separate ways, maybe drop each other some loot just to sweeten the deal.

Another example, right after I said the above I went into a game solo. Hit a great spot, found 4 keys in one medium sized building!!! And a purple nade, a bunch of decent blues etc. Got to exfil train, was literally sitting on the button pressing to exfil and got snuck up on and shot with maybe 2 second from the doors on the train closing. Gutted, but I got the one good key out in my safe pocket. All good, go again, this time maybe take a smoke for exfils....

My main complaint so far is the audio. It's both awesome and epic, and also incredibly freaking annoying sometimes. Certain sounds are so damn loud, yet footstep audio appears almost nonexistent for me. Even tried night mode. Not sure, hopefully there is a custom EQ or something I can try to setup to improve it because unless they are right on top of me, I can't hear any enemies coming on foot. I need to spot them or hear their shots.

I like how you can exfil in a downed state and still keep your gear, still let's you use the buttons too.

TIL that Embark Studios was started by a bunch of OG DICE Leadership devs over 6 years ago, who got sick of EA's pump-n-dump IP/iterations mentality and left to make their own passion projects instead..

It's so cool that they even make mistakes like fall over.

AI has always been what I feel is lacking in games now, visuals and audio good enough but shit AI ruins it.

Best human AI I seen so far is TLOU2. Hope to see more people working on it and maybe machine learning is the way to do it (or at least parts of it)

I had a mate playing it on Console and said it was amazing - Doesn't require squads, and doing PUGs was super simple and seamless. IO bought it and am gonna check it out. Thus far I've played the intro mission and have been pleasantly surprised.

I'll have to ask him. Is friendly fire on? Can you loot your team members?

The intro mission is about 4 minutes long and you die, if you liked that, you will love the game...

    No and No.
Never seen any greifing, done 50+ extractions. Had some GOOD PVP interactions, where they said well played as i knocked them out, and when i got taken down i think i shot first.
Sometimes two teams come around a corner and someone yells don't shoot and a friken rolly ball enters the standoff and shots get fired at ARCs then confusion then people start dying, really well done imo.

According to the Devs, they put out a video of the AI ARCs learning, they said there is no hand made animation at all, nothing is repetitive, they are actual AI and will find you. I've had drones find holes in buildings and chase me into a bedroom. Watched a leaper miss the roof and scrape its way up the walls. The video has some that were flipped learning to get up, haven't seen it in game yet.

I am no Dev, well i made some 3D models and scenery for flight sim but would nanite not be better for performance? LODs are very time consuming development and cause larger files but it's intriguing they are more performant.

Whatever they did, it runs extremely well!

A quick skim (I'm attempting to bake cookies atm, so forgive me for not doing my research properly) makes it sound like Nanite's edge is scalability. Since the maps in Arc Raiders aren't that large or dense, from what I've seen, I guess it may not have seen significant gains (or may have even caused some performance decrease) in tests?

My friend replied... spawning in and then dying. Presumably he means spawning in late and then dying fast.

I have a friend who is a RUST fanatic... he always tries to play the nice guy... doesn't always go well for him :D

    Crossplay = OFF

You will have PC players and solo matches are all friendly, the console kids are the assholes.
However PC squad matches has the highest tier elite PVP players.

Either way a PVE mode will kill the game, no time to post reason loading in!!!

Edit: Oh man the electrical storm match was awesome.

So if there was a PVE mode, most people will just go there and leave PVP with just PVP players meaning 100% hostile encounters, the risk is gone, PVE people will get bored because the ARC are easy to avoid, people will gear up in PVE and come to PVP and be OP.
There is 90% positive reviews, if you cater to the 10% crowd that will fall drastically to "mixed" and the game will die.
If you want a PVE mode, this is NOT your game, do not try to ruin it and enact change, go play something else. (I am a PVE player in all games with the option but this is perfect).
