God damn it now I have the wonderboy music going through my head!
Thanks a lot, now I do too!
Lol, can't ever have enough Wondy music in your head. And doll bonus sounds.
So I just looked at upgrading the kids cab. Was going to get a pie and encoder etc, but thats roughly the same cash as a pandora box 6. Hmm and for about 8 buck more for a pandora box 7.. (why box 7 I hear you ask?? Well simple, it has scanline option in the settings)
So that's what I opted for.. pandora box 7, pandora harness and the screen lvds adaptor. For just over a hundred bucks, should breathe some much needed life into this thing. .... Get ready for..
Just need to cut a new 2 player control panel.
Done this a while back but never uploaded. Added Husky Fridge, RetroPi, and added blue buttons. Also has car USB port on right to connect Hori fighting Stick/Hard Drives. Also added the Coin button and set for credits in Mame.
Mate that looks excellent.
It's funny - these old arcade machines are the size they are for all the legacy commercial reasons. They needed heaps of space for PCBs and CRTs and wire looms and coin boxes and stuff.
We build these big empty boxes today and put in tiny RPis, contoller PCBs and LCDs, with 95% of the cabinet space nothing but air. Mostly to capture the nostalgic feel of what was once necessary.
I think filling that space with something useful (i.e.: beer) is the perfect solution!
Over here in Adelaide they're selling these at cheap as chips..... for$500.
Recieved my LVDS adaptor board today as well as this..
Love the artwork on this, going to be turning this into a 2 player 3 button control panel for my rampage.
Started to see on Facebook market place people have imported Mortal Kombat and Pacman Cabs but the price tag they are selling for they can stay on market place.
I've imported stuff before, and it's not cheap. And I was doing it from China which is about 1/3 the price of shipping from the USA.
At those sorts of dollars, you're better off making your own cabinet, or using a service like ArcadeWorx.
hold off on ANYTHING 1up related unless it's one of the earlier rounds.
And if 1up does interest you follow Arcade1up Au - they are saying there WILL be cabs coming for Christmas. But news has been dialled back because of the way they have been communicating.
All i know is, if the MK machine gets released here. i will buy it, even if it sits flat packed for a period of time.
Big W are now official resellers too. Coming November.
this explains why Capcom and Arcade 1 up have both popped up at Big W
MK is happening - no risers which is a bit of a bummer but yeah. Bad news appears no Star Wars, TMNT or Marvel at this stage - which would sell like gangbusters.
What are the physical and internal spec's of these?
Meanwhile in DXB...
Hmm.. don't think that's gonna fit..shame though. Nice full size control panel is exactly what these things need..
An hour or so later...
I made this mistake a few years back. I have a home built 2 player arcade machine in the shed that’s at least 50% bigger than it needs to be and heavy. I just pulled the P4 tower out and put a pi in.
I got a wolfdale and an 8800gt that's going in.
not hot enough in DXB for you ?
