What's that tiny little dual sim phone that was on Kickstarter? I think it's called a 'Jelly'. One of the guys at work received his today and was showing it to me. Looks pretty cool.

Can you even buy a z5 compact? I found a few used ones on ebay for $200, that is it. x compact seems to be about $300 new, XZ1 compact is $600.
So I might wait, but it seems the XZ1 will not be sold in AU, so no picking it up for cheap in a year...

usually takes about 3 months for the 'new' pricing to be gone...
$300 sounds like a pretty good deal for the Xcompact, but bear in mind it doesnt have IP resistance ...

Just on this. A good mate of mine jumped to the SE from a long life of android. Loves it. Great battery life and he has managed to get all his podcasts, audio books and music collection on there without touching itunes.

Is IP resistance really a big deal? I've never had a phone with it and have never had a problem...

I'm considering increasing my size limit to allow 5" phones, something like the alcatel pop 4 is still pretty small and still available for $80ish. I guess I could get one and if I can't stand the extra size I'm not much worse off. Looks like there is nothing going to be as small as my razr m.

    Samsung A3 also looks ok at $250 - 300.

I can relate to drawing the line at a certain size. I ended up deciding as long as it fits in the fixed size cup holder in my car I could deal with it. Which puts it right around 5 and a bit inches in size. Even with a couple of mm for a case my Galaxy S5 fit the bill. It is 5.15 inches IIRC.

I tried my daughter's pop 4 in the phone slot that came in my car cupholder, it was too wide, but I hardly ever put my phone there anyway.

For me I think the main issue will be pocket fit. I usually keep my phone in shirt, vest or jacket pocket. Vest pocket is the biggest problem as some are quite shallow, so phones that are too tall will fall out.
Otherwise it will be in my front pants pocket with my wallet, again length is the main issue, here thinner phones are better, wider probably doesn't matter much until it gets to the width of my wallet at 90mm.

I could see width being an issue for one handed use though.

width is an issue and thats why phones like the LG G6 and galaxy S8 are genius - because they retain big screens but are narrower than their predecessors.

This idea pushed me toward the xperia XA, with the same size 5" screen as the pop 4, but 66.8 mm wide instead of 71.4 mm. It is taller though.

I told my mate about this deal, He had to travel to the other side of Melbourne to get one. So get in quick if you want one.

Also had a look at the size of the Galaxy S8. It's about 5mm wider than my Xperia Z5C. That's put Samsung back on the radar for my next phone.

I've been looking at the galaxy A3 too - 135.4 x 66.2 x 7.9 mm looks ok, problem again is no AU release...
