Animation looks smoother there. What I want to see though, is a transition from that to running or pulling your gun out

If the netcode has been improved from ArmA2/OA I'm down for sure, although I'll probably get it regardless, as will most of my friends. Always hated the warpy animations on anyone at range so if that's fixed I'll find it much more enjoyable.

Fixed in the latest ARMA2 patch. Online is good.

There are even more improvements in A3. So they're using OA as a base for some of the netcode fixes which are then transported into A3, but they also have dedicated A3 MP team working on A3 only multiplayer improvements that I can't wait to give a crack in the community Alpha with other aussies :)

Lens flare isn't a fictional thing. Glasses or similar can create it.

ArmA series always had lens flare when you weren't in first person mode.

Ok that's a little silly. I've never been in 3rd person in ArmA.

I always play 3rd person when moving around.

Lets you look over walls and around corners without the risk of getting shot

They make glasses with as many elements as shown in the video?

That's not glasses lens flare. That's just pseudo-cinematic masturbation, and completely out of place in a sim, unless you're simulating the life of a guy who accidentally glued an multi-element zoom to his face while he wanders around a battlefield.

Don't some soldiers wear helmet cams? Haha obviously they want some element of cinematics. I don't see why you didn't point out why a simulator allows 3rd person view.

Edit: Isn't arma 3 set in the future? Cyborg eye cameras.

My thoughts exactly. Underwater travel seems awesome.

Agreed. If lens flare is the biggest non-sim element this game has - something that has no impact on gameplay - I think we are man enough to just get over it.

Just so you guys know. Arma 2 has lens flare but only in 3rd person mode as that is meant to be a camera.

First person mode will not have lens flare
