    I have an Asus B550M prime and 3900X and 4x4gb 4133mhz c19 dominator LPX

I go to stock bios and set AI tweaker to DOCP and it shows correctly 4133 XMP 2.0. No other changes.

but if I select that mode It will not post and resets itself to safe bios.

    what am I doing wrong?

Nothing, apart from using DOCP values and expecting them to 'just work'. Ryzen ram isn't as crippled as it was with first gen, it has improved every generation, but its still not as forgiving as Intel.

Have you tried the Ryzen DRAM Calculator? You should be able to get better results from that.

Just a little hint to make it easier - after using the calculator, take a photo of the values with your phone. Then you can just restart, boot into BIOS, and apply the values you've taken a photo of.

Mind you, even that may not get you to 4133, although those nice loose c19 timings will help. Using 4 DIMMs can be an issue too, depending on the topology use on your board.

To identify the mem chips on your ram, run the free version of Thaiphoon Burner

Just click on any of the listed ram modules, and then click 'read'.

You'll get a result like the image below. It reads individual ram modules, my ram is KLEVV brand, 4x16GB, c16-3200, but its not showing the whole lot of the ram, just the individual chips on the ram I selected. You can see by the highlighted bits on the image, my ram uses Hynix CJR.

4GB per module with close to Bdie timing is most likely Samsung E Die, which your kit should have a version number of V4.24 shown on each stick.

Have you manually set FCLK? or unlock FCLK from mem clock?

Because I don't think Matisse can do ~2000 FCLK

I would try XMP but bump up the SOC to 1.1V to stat with and set the FClock to something like 1800mhz. See if that help .

Zen 2 will not go above 1800-1900 normally. (with 1:1 that means 3600-3800 max) but you can unlink the clocks however there will be a performance hit so you have ot really push the mem clocks to claw it back.

Sub timings are also pretty important if you mem is to on the QVL list as they may default to something really rubbish (or may not)

Changed cas to c18 and boot ok.

I guess c18 3466 better than 2133 it was running!

edit: thanks for the tips. running 3466 16-20-20-20-38

    getting there :)

edit: its crashing after use for a while.
