so we can totally do this
It should be a lot easier than trying to hack Kinect. This should be a lot more open in theory.
they need to make it so its possible to clip it to the top of your screen or something... my screens only like 1cm thick at the top.
There are some mounts on the market, here is one that attaches to the back of the screen: http://www.amazon.com/Xbox-360-Kine...ZJQI/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1294122789&sr=8-1
First 3D, now more motion sensitive junk... waste of money imo.
very cool tech
except how else will we do motion capture on the cheap?
Bet this guy is fat.
IMO, this stuff is for the kids more then anything (for now).
evolution in machinama development
Looks promising but it would have to be cheaper than the kinect to succeed since you buy the kinect just about anywhere.
Motion sensor is the mouse of the future for the computer along with touchscreen imo.
why would you need a touchscreen when you already have motion sensing?
pfft why would you use montion sensing when you have mind control!
We don't yet
touch screen is more accurate for fine movement and hitting specific buttons on the screen. Maybe I'm wrong but I cant imagine playing an rts or city building game on motion sensor.
motion sensing is good when you're not close to the screen or when your hands are dirty eg cooking, working in the garage are some ideal uses I can think for it.
Actually I could. Guesture at whatever you want to select, for one. THough for the PC id prefer mouse etc.
I wonder whether this is doing software processing (like Kinect), or whether they've actually paid a bit extra for the PrimeSense processing hardware to ease the load on the CPU. If they haven't included the hardware, using it on an Atom-based HTPC might be somewhat difficult.
how many people buy atom htcps...........
If your going to be using it on a tv your probably going to have an xbox there...
Kinect on 360 is ok, it still has alot of improvments to become better meaning the responsiveness of motion detection, it seems a tad bit laggy for me. Hope the pc one is more responsive for those who get one.
