Starting to show up on Australian sellers online:

    https://www.asus.com/Monitors/ROG-Strix-XG438Q/

Anybody have anymore information on it, how well it performs etc.

It seems very cheap for what it is ($1599 AU). I am interested in it, but how are we going to drive 4K to 120Hz? Even if I had a 2nd RTX 2080Ti, most games will not utilise SLi.

This or a good 3.5K 34/35" gaming monitor with FALD?

No thanks, I don't want a cheap IPS non-gaming orientated panel, and I already use a 60Hz OLED TV for gaming, trying to move to a higher refresh rate monitor now, not 60Hz again like that AOC.

And that AOC has no HDR support whereas the ASUS I linked has HDR600.

HDR600 means the monitor support HDR upto 600 nits of brightness. There is a standard of brightness introduced by VESA, HDR400, HDR600, HDR1000 and so on.

So when a TV/Monitor manufacturer states their display has HDR they can now specifiy what level of peak brightness of HDR it has, the higher the better apparantly. HDR400 is the lowest level of brightness and hence lowest quality HDR.

It is ideal to have atleast 1000 for HDR.

Hmm, seems like Acer has a similar or the same panel with better specs:

    Acer Predator CG437K

Also sports a 43" panel but has HDR1000 and 144hz @ 4K. Even better than the Asus one.

I'm so glad they put the 60 vs 120 comparison, which we all know is easily shown in a static 2d image.

Before I look at the actual price I'm going to guess it's
    $6750.

    edit -
    fucking hell. :D:D

Got to remember this is 65" too....so it's sitting at the top end of the market.

You don't have a room big enough so you will just have to settle for this monitor, damn shame :p

why has it taken so long for computer monitors to include a remote rather then fiddling with hidden buttons or little joystick things. :wired:
