Took a trip this arvo to the "String Shop" - by myself as usual - an extra bit of bravado needed on Friday the 13th!

This place has been left unused for 10+ years now. The passage/corridor is 270 metres long!

    C & C welcome!

Not a fan of the black and whites. thats just me, I prefer colour. we spent x amount of years only having black and white film. then finally they discover colour film and we still shoot in black and white.
i love the location, perspective, angels, and subjects though.
    well shot :)

I might do another thread tomorrow with colour shots.

Setting the tripod up was difficult as access was tight in places, bird shit everywhere and 100 years of dust!

Mate that was gutsy going there on Friday the 13th.

Especially since the place is obviously haunted.

    There's a bloody GHOST in pic 9 !!!!!!

In "7" I had tripod set to minimum height (20cm) balancing on a curved cover with me climbing on the machine trying to look through viewfinder, adjust camera settings with filthy hands and push cable release whilst trying to maintain stability for 20D and 17-85mm :D

I think he's from Geelong, which is just outside of Melbourne.

B&W really suites this kind of subject IMO. They're not the kind of thing I'd hang on my wall but you've captured the feel of the place well .

I wonder if there's anything like this around Newcastle...One would expect there to be.

Goddamn! - Two thumbs up for some rather enigmatic shots, there is a definite "mood" in the shots that I like.

Not really sure why ... but #6 is the winner for me!

I also think that some of these would look pretty cool with a whole heap of noise/scratches etc added to them.

You know ... that really old abused photo sort of look. Suits them perfectly IMHO.

Nice work, I particularly like 2. & 11. Would have liked to seen a close-up/macro of one of those large gears as an abstract.

I can't say if you did a good job or not 'cause I don't know. I can tell you that I like the photos. The subject matter appeals to me. Nature taking back... I like it.
