Never tried Arachnet myself, but I can tell you I'm loving Westnet so far !! $79 p/m for 512/128 8gb peak & off peak (total 16 Gb), great tech support (spent hours helping me setup/fix my network and adsl),not over-subscribed like IINET & plus free WAIX support!!
    ooooooh yeah!! :)

P.S Westnet also has agents over east tho i can't speak for that service.

When I was with OzForces DSL, I've never had a complaint about their service. In fact, I think it's one of the best I've ever experienced. I'm in Sydney and during that time, I've rarely had any problems with my connection at all.

how about Bigpond cable? there is a great deal now till end of Jan 2004... (2 months free and install free, including modem supplied). and this is unlimited, and shaped to 64kbps after 10Gb.

was going to go adsl, but this popped along in the last month

Westnet just upped their d/l linit recently!!
    $80 for 512/128 with 14gb peak and 14gb off-peak (28gb total!)

    Oh and Taupui,
I'd be pretty reluctant to go with telstra. Especiall on cable I've only heard bad things.

I am currently with ozforces 512 adsl in Melbourne, and initially it was bad due to teething problems, however since then (when ozforces first started) it has been the best value for money internet provider I have tried. (I've been with both telstra and optus cable in the past as well as dialup)

    Pros:

Truly Unlimited Connection with no quota of any kind.

    Good phone support

    Fast Http transfers

    Reasonable pings

Good selection of gaming servers and locally hosted files. (ozfiles.net)

    Fast Churn available

    Cons:

Any nonstandard ports are not as fast, eg p2p, irc, ftp, etc.

    No pipe access.

    Minimum 6 month contract.

To get good pings you need to stop downloading completely.

Expensive compared to other plans from other providers (however other providers tend to cap their "unlimited" service, (other comindico resellers included) anywhere from 30-80g depending on the isp)
