edit: There's only 26 pics here, totalling just 2.5mb because I resized them. I hope it's okay to span over two posts *hides*

Went out today to watch the superbikes and support races, fuck it was fun.

Took a few snaps while I was out there, it's just an old Fujifilm Finepix S5700 but I got a few okay shots.

Photos have only been cropped and resized and a border added in irfanview, nothing more.

I took 181 photos over the day but thought I'd only resize 26 to chuck up on here.

Some shots in the pits - I am shocked at how well these turned out, once again just resized... Probably crap compared to most photo standards but I like em

Turn 1 after the straight, you can see how bumpy it is when watching them

I know they're not the best photos in the world but I'm just using a point and shoot and still learning anyway. I can tell you the settings I used if it will help.

Anyway, I just wanted to share my photos. Enjoy!

Very nice shots considering what they were taken with. Would have been nice to be there :(

Yeah, I just ended up getting over looking at the same thing, especially with what looks like the resizing JPEG artifacts every image seemed to have.

I love motorbikes but dunno bout these shots...

Criticise them if you want I never claimed them to be anything good. I just wanted to pop them up anyway. I guess doing a batch resize and trying to make 26 photos as small as possible so that they can be displayed quickly has its downfall. I just used irfanview and resized them all so that's probably it.

Maybe I should throw the camera in the bin?

lol not what I meant mate. But sometimes say 6 or so images which are a bit less deformed are better than say 26 images that all look a bit dodgy due to resizing etc.

Ah yep I follow. Okay I won't post up as many next time, and I'll be more critical about which ones I choose :)

Jpeg artefacts aside, some of the shots are pretty good. Given sufficient equipment, you could do well as a photographer.

Kudos on the newspage link as well.

Here's the full sized, unedited, straight off the camera of the large one of Stauffer in the pits...

    http://merudo.com/images/superbikes/DSCF0133.jpg

edit: any of the above if anyone wants the full size untouched version so that its not artifacted and its not so small (i did lower the quality substantially so that the thread would still be 56k friendly) let me know.

I've also got lots more photos so if there's any photos of anyone in particular that you want let me know their race number and what class

i wish.... i had moved around the track when that happened. :(

Also, re checking the settings i used, I understand now why my photos are so average.

While i'm complaining about the flexibility of the settings on the camera, I've now noticed all photos were taken at ISO 100.

    d'oh.

 noob it up some more merudo, noob it up... rofl

GTR27: i'll be out on the track myself on august 13. you should come out too :)
