Thought I would make a tread in-case others come across free or cheap deals for gear.

My Telstra account exec sent me this:

Seems like a good deal for a attending a webinar

Should use this as the 'dump excess out of date kit' thread as well :p

Most enterprise wifi is, unless it can run in standalone mode.

Am aware of that, but the first one is a free switch.

Thanks OP, I registered for the webinars.

My work has a ton of older enterprise gear which is marked for a recycling but I think they'd be open to offloading this gear onto someone else.

I'll have a chat to the powers that be and see if they'd let me dump it here

Yes, it is. I generally try to avoid using it personally but others might like to trial it and test it out

    Not sure if relevant:

    Linky

I'm sure after 3 years there'd be more options available, too.

aren't they using signed firmware on newer APs, making this sort of hack a lot more difficult?

I hope not. Looks like you can get OpenWRT for the wireless AP that they'll send you in the third like of the OP (MR18)

    https://wiki.openwrt.org/toh/meraki/mr18

    Nothing for the switch though

Crap, I registered but missed the 1st webinar. Thought I'd get an email reminder but didn't. I did get an email letting me know that I missed it though! haha
