I think HC mode wont balance well with this game, and prob why it isn't there yet? (or is hardcore an unofficial thing now with custom servers running lower health and no killcam etc and not just a checkbox setting?)

Medics will become too powerful with 1-2 shot kills with effectively semi auto sniper rifles..

When do we get custom servers? just DICE servers @ moment.

I really want hc mode, mainly for no killcam, no spotting and no minimap. FF is also gonna be lots of fun, massive strategy changes since we wont be able to nade/mortar spam.

I will say though, while i almost always refuse to play battlefield games or even most PvP games outside of a hardcore mode, normal mode for bf1 is still so fun.

My pet hate at the moment is if you start to get a bit of server lag, can get some pretty serious rubberbanding which is annoying as fuck, when you have to run through the same doorway twice

Now this is something I could get behind. All I actually have ever wanted is essentially HC mode without the ridiculous health drop. Make people think about where they are sending explosives, and actually look for people running as opposed to red traingles on their HUD.

Yeah not sure how well HC is going to work in this game with the open maps, I already feel like a fly on a white ceiling as soon as I leave cover....everything opens up on you.

On the flipside it will be nice not having to pour half a drum of ammo into someone to put them down.

Realism doesn't = Syringe to revive a dead person hit by artillery / grenade / head shot / anything.

Perhaps the medic needs to run around and look for body parts and stich Frankenstein together with some magic lightning bolt.

Maybe a medic should actually be a necromancer

Here let me heal that big hole in your head, I'm just going to throw an unopened medpack at you.

I'm getting more and more lag since the beta release and it's starting to drive me nuts. Res is lowered to 1366x768, everything low, and it still dips into the 20s...

    i5 3.5ghz, 16gb ram, gtx960.

i know graphics card is the weak point... any recommended options for upgrades? this is probably the last set of games i'll play so no need to future proof my purchase, just want bf1 working well, preferably at 1080p/medium or high.

what generation i5? id look for a second hand i7 this game loves more cores & a second hand 780 or 780ti will have you 60fps @ 1080p

780s going cheap so keep eye out

That sounds low, I have a 380X, worse CPU and less ram and more than you running medium/1080P

for frostbite games, it really loves the CPU so your i5 is the weak point. an i7-6700k + 980 is playable on ultra.
