I'll probably get it, but have my reservations... so it'll cost ~$19.43 ? :) rounded up to $19.45 is my guess.

Hopefully this will be up on the PSN this Friday, fingers crossed. I was a big fan of the original 1942 on the PC and now I can play this version in comfort sitting on my lounge in front of the big telly :)

Such a poor attempt at a remake, at least on the consoles. Games are mostly laggy as shit due to having to play on US based servers. Everything is incredibly simplified.

It's really good looking though (compared to 1942 of course), and I'm going to buy it again on the PC because with some good mods and custom maps it'll be fixed up.

So far the only problem I can see with BF1943 is the same reason I gave up on BF:BC. Lag. With no local hosting, the lag is inevitable.

However the lag aside, its a pretty fun game. Sure its not as deep as other BF titles, but remember is been simplified for a reason; its an XBLA title and only ~500mb (and looks awesome). It also has smacks of replay value.

I downloaded this tonight (had to go to Videos and then find it there? :Paranoid:)

It's laggy as all buggery. I'll put up with some lag (eg. the lag in BF:BC gets complained about a lot, but it never really bothered me), but when it takes you 5 attempts to run through a doorway, it's pretty bad. Unplayable at the moment - pot luck as to whether you hit people, and can't even move around the game half the time.

Hopefully it dies down, or EA put in some decent servers.

My thoughts after playing the trial:

If you are a seasoned player from the BF series on the PC (ie you have played BF1942, BF:V, BF2, etc to death) don't bother....as it just feels like a watered down BF, with regen health, only 3 maps (in full vers) and 3 classes

    but

If you are a console FPS'er and havent really played the PC counterparts, and have played BF: BC to death....you will enjoy. The destructable environments are a welcome addition, and tanks are no longer stopped by a tree :)

As others have pointed out, its a bit of a lagfest at the moment...but this may improve.

yeah the lag is a data centre network issue apparently. Any else having problems signing in. I cant even sign into the EA servers

Unfortunately I didn't think very hard before buying this and was quickly reminded of battlefield bad company multiplayer.

That is, no Aus servers made it frustrating. Maybe the private game allow hosting from local?

Managed to play a round of Wake and Guadalcanal though.

    couldn't go prone....?

First flight in a plane when straight into the water off the runway. I pull back on the stick and I expect the plane to go up...... That can be changed in the settings though.

Try again tomorrow night I guess.

Can't join anything in quick match. Guess we'll need to stick to private servers? Perhaps a list of XBL IDs in here for people who play this so we can host games together?

    My XBL ID is GPolk

I might host some games tomorrow during work hours if anyone's home, got the day off class.

Edit: Has something happened to the wiki? Just checked the gamertag list and it was empty.

Played the tutorial so far, seems like it could be really good for a console game. Don't know if I'll pick it up for PC later as well, probably not. The simplified nature seems to me that it's best kept on a console, since that's what its made for and I'll save my pennies for something a bit more complex on the PC.

Lol I had the same thing happen to me. Why the default is inverted I'll never know.
