    Hi Guys:

No real thread has been started relating to the game, so thought I would start one.

    General info about battlefield 2.

Release Date: sometime in June 2005.

Some info @ Gamespot relating to battlefield 2 Vehicles:
    HERE

    Weapon/Class info:
    Here

    Map Info:
    Here

I'm a battlefield fan and I'm really looking forward to playing Battlefield 2, could be one of the best games this year.

Something that has me worried tho, is the graphic requirements. At CES (consumer electronics show) battlefield 2 was shown running the wetlands demo and pushing the demo was two nvidia 6800 ultra's in SLI mode. Thats alot of power required to run high res. Wonder what my 5900ultra will be able to do (an upgrade might be needed :( ).

Info about the CES demo can be found HERE.

    Hope you enjoy the info.

    Laterz Toppy.

bf 2 will be the next big hitter for me and will probably be the catalyst for my next round of upgrades.

Hopefully the net code will be better this time as well.

Likewise. Bit disapointed tho, when i pre-ordered it it was coming out towards the end of march. But it will be worth the wait.

Pitty EA has something to do with it again... Very good chance it'll need patching right out of the box (at least 200mb).
It'll have more bugs than margaret thatchers crotch.

BUT, should it prove decent I'll gladly purchase it.

I hope they bring out BF2 for 32 bit and 64 bit verisons on windows platform ... An linux verison would be sweet as well...

They need to fix the AI of the bots in it a lot ... Possibly with able to control the bots NOT to use vechiles and follow commands given by squad or commander

I meant 64bit lighting as the Unreal 3 engine uses, also notice the bump mapping were each brick on the wall has its own texture and size - extending out the wall, I hope BF2 has this:

I know you meant that .. But i would like 32 and 64 bit exe's for it

Personaly i think too many bloody games, are how can we lag out the graphics card, instead of FUN , GAMEPLAY

Id rather have BF2 with toned down graphics and more fun and better game play options

Then why not just play an existing Battlefield 1942 or Half Life mod instead? They have toned down graphics and still contain a great deal of fun.

The aim of new games in a series is to improve both the graphics and the gameplay. Some of us need better graphics and sound to aid in the immersiveness of gaming.

I notice in bf series, what is missing is Team work , game play and amount of players , fancy graphics are nice, but during combat are you going to look at the 100x aa effect or shoot ppl ?

90% of mods are a waste of time .. Most mods just copy of a existing game already .... Desert combat was a great mod .. and BF2 seems to be Desert comabat in new engine , fancy graphics and team play addded

There is a video of BF2 on Gamespot that shows a jet firing a missile at a helicopter and the missile goes THROUGH the side door of the chopper and out the other side, thats how good the hit boxes are.

BF2 media page go here then scroll down to the "Gameplay Footage 2" movie.

    Can't wait.
