Problem is I generally like to play the engineer class and I find the starting weapons for that class in BF4 to be nothing but steaming piles of horse poop, but as you said, once I unlock the carbines, life will be better...

The AK5C is a good gun. I dont think any of the starter weapons are rubbish..

Yeah, I'm looking forward to unlocking that, so far I'm not a fan of the MBT LAW or the MX4, but then I never really was a PDW fan anyway.

Nope, it's an unlock, 15000 Engineer Score, shouldn't take long to get there...

AK5C is by far the best carbine IMO. Just requires that you are accurate with it. shoot for the head etc

I prefer the ACE 52 CQB - for whatever reason, I generally prefer to get my DPS from bigger bullets rather than more bullets.

That said, I should give the AK-5C another go - according to my stats I've only used it for 1h19m, and the low KPM suggests that I was very bad at the time.

+1 to this... One of my favourite things to do when there's a sniper on the roof of a building is put my 4x scope on, stick it in single shot mode, and wait for them to stick their head up again... The amount of raging snipers is priceless!

How do you guys usually pilot the air craft??? All keyboard?

Setting up a joystick is totally heartbreaking imo. I got an Xbox controller. It seems to interfere with the keyboard though.

Im glad theres at least ONE 7.62 NATO gun that each class can use. However I feel theres not enough choice, as most guns available across all classes are small caliber. While 5.56 guns are more stable, I am always running out of ammo and not getting enough damage/kills - which is also why I only really play HC mode these days. On normal mode I have to go support just so I can empty a carbine clip to get 1-2 kills and still have ammo, instead of up to 10 kills per clip.

Set the deadzone of like 10% if it interferes with movement. You should be able to put it down and resume mouse+KB without it drifting on you.

I love "sniper hunting" with an LMG ... someone starts taking shots at you from a distance, find somewhere to set up with a bipod and then just start burst firing at them until you either kill them or they run away crying.

The one-shot-one-kill guys are just annoying though :Paranoid:
