If you want a cool quiet computer, get the C3 processor, if you want speed and performance, look elsewhere

The Cyrix 3 and the C3 are very different chips - the benchmarks are for the Cyrix3, the C3 is the next generation.

    Cyrix 3
    - 0.18 Micron Process
    - 128k L1 Cache, 0 L2 Cache

    VIA C3
    - Samuel2 Based Core
    - 0.15 Micron Process
    - 128k L1 Cache, 64k L2 Cache
    - 52mm Square Die

These are the main differences between the two

Here are some benchmarks showing new C3 beating the Celeron:

    http://www.via.com.tw/jsp/en/products/C3/pb.jsp

    Cool Processing
With power consumption levels as low as under one watt in low voltage mode and highly efficient heat dissipation properties, the VIA C3™ E-Series runs so cool that it does not require a fan

I am wanting to see a dual cpu notebook with all that extra room from having no fans.

    Point taken...

Tis one of those out of proportional graphs though... Have to love that whole extra point... :D

Wonder why they didn't put it up against a Duron? :p

Although apparently they are multipler unlocked & tend to o/c alright...
