very nice. unexpected settings... 1/160 and f11!? how did you get the bee to stay still
How did the flower stay so still??
Also, look how badly damaged the bee's wings are. Amazing stuff!
Bees and other insects generate lift through leading-edge vortex generation, with bees generating extra lift from changing the angle of attack of their wings on the fly, so even though the wings are damaged it should be able to fly reasonably well enough.
is that bee dead?
I suppose that would be a worker Bee. That being the case their life expectancy is only 28 days or so. They probably don't need great quality wings for that amount of time. Thats an inspiring photo though. I would love to blow that up for my father as a present, he is a bee keeper.
