    Hi all,

Just chasing a bit of advise.
Since moving into our new place we bought the 65" LG C8 for the lounge, and we are more than happy with it :D

But we are just after a new TV for the living area. Looking for a 65" under $2k.
(we are happy with just LED seen its mostly used for FTA and kids)

    Any suggestions?
(I didn't mind the LG remote/pointer, and native Plex support is a must)

    Cheers

I have a JVC 4K tv in my bedroom, but a 50" version. I don't think I'd be buying another JVC, just a couple of small niggles with it and I don't think the image is all that great.

Hisense has built up an excellent reputation in OZ over past few years with good warranty. Daughter has a 55" can't fault it.

Still what you would classify as a budget brand though.

"Budget" yes, but not with the same negative connotations you might associate with that word. They make their own panels now, their own software and they provide ongoing support. Sure, they HAVE some very cheap panels (P2 and P4 range) but their P6 and P7 range are very competitive midrange TVs at a slightly lower price than you would find equivalent Samsungs, LGs or Sonys. Eg. I'd happily take a Hisense P7 over a Samsung NU7100 or LG UK6540.

TCL are trying to break the same ground, but they haven't got the software or support facets anywhere near good enough yet. They also supply Australia with significantly worse sets than the US get - ie. completely different TVs.

Brands like JVC, Soniq, Linden, Akai, Polaroid, Viano...these brands just rebadge generic panels or panels from the like of Samsung that are several years old (Hisense used to use Samsung panels from the previous year).

Well not a major brand but improved a great deal over the years with excellent warranty, Hisense TV's get excellent user reviews around the traps like WP.

Another +1 to hisense here, A++ would buy again - probably one of the best cheapie brands, as for a main TV I'd still stick with Samsung/LG

I've had a Hisense 75N7 for about a year now and absolutely love it.
Once you turn off all the motion processing crap and adjust the picture settings it's quite nice.
