It's a must! Say no more..
I was a bit let down might have to try it once more though it get's a pretty good wrap.
Been to 8bit a couple of times now new office is going to be 5 minutes down the road. Had the Altered beast and Golden Axe both good. Onion rings are delicious and milk shakes are the bomb.
Went to Wonky Trolley in North Melbourne.
I don't recommend them. Tried the Moonee Ponds store; burger was bland and the chips overcooked. Not worth the tram trip.
8-bit is still my favourite burger in Melbourne. It's just so damn hard to get to Footscray from the Eastern suburbs though!
I love living in port melbourne. I have Cafe 51 literally 400m from my house, lame that its only open during business hours but still they make seriously good burgers and nearly all are $7 or less. $10 is chips, drink and burger and you get a very good amount of chip given that price.
I live 5 minutes from 8-bit and I've been twice. I don' think its even worth the 5 min drive...
Mr Burger, on the other hand
I've been a few times now and it has grown on me. Bit greasy depending on which burger you order but great flavour. Needs to be ordered with brioche buns for extra greatness.
they are a touch bland but quite big, i've been there a number of times.
and (slightly) overcooked chips are the best!
Went to Max's burger bar in Montmorency!
I went to Mr Burger on Friday, it was a good burger - although the patty was cooked through (I like a little bit of pink), it was still juicy.
Burger was a bit small, it seemed to be over very quickly.
But a very good feed
Been wondering about these guys as they're local to us. Got fairly average reviews but might give them a go as burger lounge is acceptable but I find Grill'd to be better.
On a side-note, one of our clients is launching their new cooking class business and one of their classes is a 'Burger Porn' night
She's was head chef on a very famous yacht for several years so I'm expecting it to be all kinds of awesome: www.locavore-studio.com
Right, So I tried the "Secret burger menu" at Dandenong Pavilion.. First thing, $20+ for a burger? okay, maybe it's amazing and worth it?.. Very disappointed..
It's literally only a couple of points better than a burger from a fish and chip shop. They provide 2x beef patties, both of which are wafer thin, overcooked and over seasoned. All I could taste was salt. The "brioche" bun, lightly coated with oil, dry and tasteless in the middle. And the chips to accompany the burger? Even more salt added, if the salty meat was not enough for you.
There was a group of 4 of us, we ordered different burgers and we all felt the same way.
I definitely do not recommend this place if you enjoy a good quality burger
When did Dandenong become an pretentious area charging $20+ for a burger? Lol
Yeah seems ludicrous for dandenong to charge $20 LEL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!.
Love my local Cafe 51, $7 for almost every burger, $10 in a combo and some crazy big burgers for just $12. 400m from my doorstep
This might be sad but I went to Lord of the Fries for the first time recently when the Mrs & I were in the city. It was latish and we were starving, and were at Flinders St Station.
Had the big burger or whatever it's called, and hoenstly it was the best burger i've had in a long time, except for one i recently had in Tasmania that was amazing.
This burger was simple but cooked perfectly and packed with flavour. I couldn't believe how shit it made all the burgers i can remember having in my life seem, especially since they all just seem so flavourless for what they are!
I need to tuck into some more around this place since i've only lived here since January, but a franchise burger with such quality is obviously a rare thing (and maybe just a flinders st thing) and i want some more burgers!
Can't say I've been to Lord of the Fries, but maybe the the fact you were starving skewed your opinion! lol
Maybe review it again when you're not starving.
some ppl here rated Dandy Pavillion pretty high seem like mixed feeling here but $20 for a Burg I'll pass.
You are lucky but your health is on the decline which is unlucky
I went there last week had the chili mama meal, it was good, had to smash it down as I had to go to a meeting. Chips are frozen but cooked nicely and burger was awesome.
I'ts a small take away shop not really a cafe but they do great burgers, while I was looking for reviews this came along which is a plus....NSFW btw that last pick
Burg don't seem important at all.....
Haha, it wasn't really that starving! Mrs had the hotdog and neither one of us enjoyed it that much but even she rated the burger as amazing. Half of me suspects it was a miracle 1 off so that's why I haven't been back again since...don't want to tarnish that memory
I might be pointing out the obvious, but you do realise Lord of the Fries is vegetarian don't you?
