Sorry I don't have any more info, but there's a new specialist burger place thats opened up at the top of the main street in Ivanhoe - was driving past the other day on the way to lunch and didn't get a chance to stop, but it looks like they're trying hard.

Will go back next week and give it a shot and report back.

Went to Grand Trailer Park Friday arvo after reading good reviews about it on here. Convenient location, nice vibe and theme inside. I didn't like how you have to order at the counter though...for the price paid I reckon they could've had someone come and take my order. I had the Jorje with chips and sriracha mayo sauce. Jorge was a tad bit on the spicy side, especially since it had sriracha mayo sauce inside it as well. Patty was finely cooked (not over or undercooked anywhere) and I liked the relish, rockets and capsicum inside it, although this might not be everyone's thing. My vegetarian friend who was with me had the vegie patty and didn't like it...she said it was under cooked in the middle and lentils were too crunchy for her liking. WIR? Maybe if I'm around Bourke St again at night..I feel my tastebuds react differently at night so that'd be a new experience.

Ah, In-N-Out burger. Such fond memories from our US honeymoon. They are as good as they say. If they ever open a store in Melbourne, I will drive from Albury just for some burgers, then turn around and drive home.

It would have to be damn good considering the quality of burgers in Melbourne already. If i were to get excited about burgers i'd be keen to see Five Guys here.

Considering how simple they appear, they are absolutely delicious. Sometimes things can be too complicated.

Tried Beats Burgers the other weekend, in Essendon. Went with their basic, but added mac 'n cheese patty and bacon. Also had loaded fries.
Burger was OK, but the m&c patty was too thick and the mac undercooked which ruined the whole thing a bit. Loaded fries were fine - not as good as Dribbles', but nothing to complain about. My mate wasn't impressed with his but he just likes to be negative about most food places...

Missus wants to go to Chaddy tomorrow, so will likely hit ol' reliable Royal Stacks for lunch or maybe Burger Project, as I've never tried it.

I have tried Burger Project at both Collins St and Melbourne Central and I'm impressed. the staff were very cool and the experience was enjoyable. food was simple but very well executed and delicious.

they top Royal Stacks IMO, but Betty's Burgers also do a very nice lunch. I took about 12 team members there a couple of weeks ago and they all bitched about the 10 minute wait for a table, which faded to a whisper when they got to order, and died completely when lunch arrived.

I found Burger Project to be way overpriced for what it's worth.

My recommendation in the CBD is Burger Boys, just around the corner from Royal Stacks and in my opinion better. I normally get the royale with cheese (with double patty). The onion rings are also very good and they have nice bar setting (Saving Grace bar).

Also in the eastern suburbs I tried Flame Tree Burgers in Bayswater and Mum's Burger Kitchen in Boronia. Both I was pleasantly surprised and would be going back.

I'll have to try Burger Boys next time I'm in the city.
Royal Stacks isn't going to blow anyone's mind, but it's consistent and better than average, so it's always going to be my fall back if there's nothing else around.
Betty's is great, only been once but very keen to go again.
Pretty sure I've said it before, but if you're ever in the south eastern area, check out Cool Bean Kitchen (Moorabbin). Way too far for me to make it a targeted lunch, but is at the top of my list if I ever happen to be in the area doing something.

Anyone been to Curator's Collective, Moonee Ponds? I tried a few months ago but they were out of patties!!

Visited Melbs a couple of times over the past few weeks. My fav burger was The Cornish Hotel. One of their vego/vegan burgers was fucking rad.

Yep, JL at Kew is pretty damn good - def worth a visit (and the iga across the road is phenomenal!)
There's also a Juicy Lucy burger at Hello Sam that's like a massive burger with a big hunk of southern fried chicken in the middle for extra awesomeness - still one of my fave burger places in Melbourne - pulled jackfruit burger from there is an amazing vego burger too, and even better with bacon...

When I started this thread six (!!!) years ago, there weren't very many good burger joints. These days, nearly any burger shop you walk into will serve a decent burger. My go-to burgers would be Royal Stacks or Burger Project since they are both in a convenient location (Chadstone).
