An important retro art production..
Well the self proclaimed "Ambassador of the TurboGrafx/PC Engine for the last 10 years" doesn't seem too happy with it:
.............................................................................................sorry did you say something? Got a little lost there.
I enjoy it when artists mashup several of my favourite things.
Tim from Brisbane's excellent 1UP Arcade has a YouTube channel, and it's starting to fill up with heaps of good technical info.
Latest one is a general CRT safety video, but dig through the channel for lots of other stuff.
Great, I hope we see more content from him. Another local repairer here, Spacie - first timer installing a TV tube + universal chassis including Jomac's awesome email service - It turns out that many older low grade tubes were rejects from TV manufacturing! Awesome stuff.
I need to do this on my Neo Geo cab. Current tube has had it (definitely the tube), and needs to be swapped out. Got a few donor tellies ready to go, just need the time.
Good video on the Roland MT-32, since i never had one or knew anyone with one i had no idea just how much better that thing sounds compared to the soundblaster 16 that everyone had
I also didn't know you can connect one up via USB today and have it work passrthough style with DOSBox
edit: this one really intrigued me one of the reasons why it sounds so much better is that the roland mt-32 had 8 seperate channels of audio playing at once. There was no software mixing to worry about. Since it was a hardware device it just outputted all the channels directly, this seems to result in awesome sound.
Clint from Lazy Game Reviews has taken a look at the Sierra PCjr + PCjr Hard Drive expansion he picked up from Computer Reset as shown in his previous video. Long story short, turns out this very machine was Ken Williams PCjr (confirmed by Ken Williams himself) and still has data on it! Not sure if he has done it yet but he said he will make the contents of the hard drive available for everyone to play with.
Lol I just watched the drama unfold with this guy going through the selected games.. awesome!!! You can see the total and utter dissalusion.. lol power golf!!! Haha.. and space harrier . ... Lol and then victory run.. hahaha
A MUST watch..
does he also fix netherworld?
anyone ever heard of the retropad 32 before?
I'm not sure who does theirs.
I've been watching alot of LGR videos and I must say, very good content.
I just watched LGR's vid on the Sierra PCjr that was found recently and neither the hardware or software involved interests me all that much, but his enthusiasm for it all was enough to keep me watching to the end.
Clint makes such good content, it's a joy to watch. There's a lot of great retro YT content out there and he makes even the most boring bits of HW somewhat interesting - such as all those terrible old digital camera videos he does. I appreciate why he does them i guess his passion for amazing tech is infectious. It is also quite fitting that those old pieces of technology are given their due respect too.
If deep dives into old and obscure hardware is your thing, Techmoan is your guy.
Behold, video on vinyl!
Agreed, some of the videos on especially the old Creative isa sound cards and early IBM/Compaq machines was a memory throwback for me as I owned them when I was a kid.
some of the most interesting ones he's done are just about obscure storage of all things.
a great new video from strafefox
