The compulsive in me figures some of that through hole work could have a wee bit less solder, but the realist in me looks at the pitch of everything involved and realizes that's going to be incredibly hard to do. Plus he's incredibly quick and smooth as he works.

Thanks heaps for posting this, amazing stuff. I had to skip Steve Wozniak - can't stand listening to that man-child speak, but it was great to see Jack Tramiel in action. Hard to imagine him in full flight Jack Attack mode - he'd apparently mellowed by 2007.

i saw this too, the irony of taking Earthbound to space was not lost on me - I was relieved to hear the cart came back to earth as well. :)

    Evening all.
As well as my compulsive (impulsive?) collecting, I’ve started putting some of it up on YouTube.
The Amstrad PC range tends to fly under the radar, but I like them.

Code injection into SMW to play flappy bird. Yes using an original SNES, SMW cartridge and injecting using just the SNES controller!

Then he came back and perma hacked his cart using code injection to create a save file. You can download his save file if you want to try this out on an emulator.

I'm assuming it works on a flash cart where you can inject save data too?

It does indeed i tested it out on both the SD2SNES and it also works on the Super NT directly using jailbreak fw, simply copy the sram file across and name it correctly. There is an interesting save he has left in save slot 2 with a whole bunch of mods running. If you load save 3 it starts a new game in slot 1 with the hex editor running. Link to the SRAM file is in the youtube video comments.

Just a couple of days after my Birthday, a Spectrum +2 that I had won of eBay arrived in the mail. What started off as a simple unboxing, turned into a fix and a mod video. A huge thanks to GadgetUK164 for the mod video!

My only two gripes with Joel are his continued insistence that he made his money being a pinball technician (pffft), and that he pushes himself too hard - almost to the point of self harm - doing these builds and videos.

Dude needs to slow down and enjoy his toys. But I also realise he has this collection (and the money for it) because he's the kind of person who doesn't slow down.
