So, I want another full frame DSLR that can shoot full HD video.

Whats the best value used do you reckon?

I'm not a pro. I shoot pics of my kids. I have a smart phone that does 4K stabilised video, but occasionally want to shoot nice video with something like a 50 1.4 lens.

    A Canon 6D? Nikon D600?

Assume I have no brand loyalty or lenses or gear of any sort. And yes, I do want full frame :)

I'm a Canon guy, so can't really comment on the alternatives... but I reckon a second hand 6D is great value for money at the moment. It's kind of in that Golidlocks zone.
I've considered a 5Dmk2 which is cheaper, but also an older processor and not as good with low light situations.
The 5Dmk3 is more comparable to the 6D, but I don't know if it was just my searches, but they seem to be a bit more expensive on used markets.

My only real gripe with the 6D is that it doesn't take CF cards... which is a pain for me because i have a lot...

I have never really bought into the brand wars, but my honest opinion is that the used market for canon gear is typically bigger than what i have seen in the other brands. This was the ultimate deciding factor for me when I first bought into this hobby, and I feel it has remained true.
    Good luck!

Oops I misread the used part on the title.

Could look at a used A73, there are a few floating around. Great camera for the money :)

I'd suggest new(ish) so that you get something with video AF.

Nothing wrong with the IQ of older bodies, but AF has come a long way.

I'd suggest trying that with someone else shear first, I'm sure it sounds nice but I can't see that producing any useful footage with kids involved.

When they're moving fast, probably not. But depending on what you're shooting, there's potential.

Not sure how well this will work on the A7iii.

Here's a video from a guy who makes a living off cameras with these videos, and isn't your normal migraine inducing hyperactive paid shill

If you can live with the 1.76 crop then yes. Otherwise, Sony's camera's highly recommended.

If anyone else is considering burning 11 minutes 21 seconds of their life, he needs a flippy screen, Canon has it and Sony doesn't.

OP wants FF which presumably cuts out cameras with a crazy crop factor.

And hasn't mentioned vlogging, i.e flip screen not a factor.

I thought most of them didn't crop for 1080p, only for 4K. Just minor cropping if you enable digital IS.

Looks like the EOS R doesn't crop for 1080p, you are correct.

If you are looking to keep price down as well, the EOS RP will be worth a look. Nice little camera for good price point.
