Best way to destroy HDDs?

    If it's a western digital drive, just use it for like 5 minutes.

    Guarantee it will be clicking and dead.

    Hackaday did an article while back on destroying HDD's with thermite. Unless you already have the two chemicals on hand and know how to make it, not a really a viable option for the average Joe and in some states it is illegal to make thermite due to the potential explosive nature of its raw compounds to make it. You need to check this with the prohibited list in your state article.

    Substitute Western Digital with Seagate and you'd be correct. Unless it's a WD Green.

    Not sure about others but MSI Z490 motherboards have option to securely erase all the data on SSD/HDD in the BIOS, or you can always:
