Which state? Are you able to get above this figure often or not at all?
so how long did it take you guys to get your kit sent out to you?
im probably around 5 or 6 days atm.
~2 business days
But this was in December when it wasn't officially available in Bris, so demand is probably higher now.
i figured id let it run 5 business days to be fair.
2 days is impressive.
I'm assuming you just need to hook up the modem and register it?
I don't suppose there's anything i need to be aware of outside of a normal install?
About 3 or 4 days from memory. Had to sign for it also, which meant an extra day at the PO.
When you order it, they enable the access on your account. When it arrives you hook the sucker up and away you go, from memory it makes you log in again with the bigpond page.
ok nice n easy then
not that we get a choice in the matter but i was told i would receive a netgear cg3100v1
i think i remember ppl talking about modem issues.
Im hoping this isnt one of them
look forward to posting up some speeds soon
speeds been slowing over the last few weeks here...
im located at bethania..
No idea what you're going on about.
re: speed issues, mine is still fine. Always above 60mbit
I was reading through that some brisbane users in the last few weeks have noticed a drop in overall speed.
my apoligies i thought it was you to, ...
Hey all, I've been on Telstra cable for a long time, if I want to take advantage of the newer speeds will I need to upgrade my modem? I still have the original Motorola cable modem from Telstra.
Also, I assume getting the upgraded speed I need to contact Telstra to get my account upgraded? Thanks!
same here Everlong
you just need to call Telstra and task them.
First they will check to see if you're area is eligible.
From what i know if you have a 13 digit account number you are eligible.
You will need a new modem to take advantage of the higher speeds.
No issues with speed here, tested just then:
PS: i hate you
Great, thankyou Retard, just what I needed to know
Hey guys, made an OCAU specific speedwave here, please create an acc on speedtest.net if you join up & include your internet plan(and OCAU name if you want) to give people a better idea of what to expect from different ISP's/plans available.
I found with Bigpond ultimate, GCOMM & optus servers only give about 40mb/s, internode is 118mb/s.
Participated, got a pretty average speed. Not my best, will try another server.
my best ping 3ms
Just got off the phone with Indian Support
He rebooted my cisco modem for me, speeds came back perfect again (currently downloading from AARnet at 10.1MB/s )
Told him I wanted my modem replaced with a netgear, he said no because its now fixed.
I told him rebooting the modem proves its a issue with the hardware. Advised my old netgear never needed rebooting
He told me all products, modems and even TVs need to be turned off for AT LEAST half an hour often
I complained some more and told him thats not acceptable to turn things off and on again regularly for a service advertised as "always on"
He confirmed my address and told me my replacement netgear will arrive in 5-6 days
Just realised why my tests are all coming through at around 80mbit, I have foxtel for xbox live running which chews nearly a fair bit on it's own
bigpond and origin are pumping out good speeds this morning.
