Can someone tell me how i would go about updating the Bios on my KT400 chipset motherboard ?
Not unless you tell us what motherboard model it is (KT400 is just the chipset).
Once you know the model and brand, go to the manufacturer's website and have a look in the Support section (that's where BIOS updates normally are). Some manufacturers (Asus, Gigabyte, Abit, MSI, and maybe a few more) provide a Windows-based utility to flash the BIOS for you (and automatically download the newest one too). Others will require you to get the BIOS file and the flash software, which needs to be run in DOS (not in a Windows DOS box - you need to boot from an MS-DOS floppy disk or bootable USB drive). In this case, the flash software will have a readme file containing all the relevant information.
hey, after i made the thread i realised i forgot to add the motherboard brand, i managed to fine the update, and i updated fine. thanks alot for the reply.
