So about those pre-order guys who think Levine can do no wrong...
nope, still hasn't done any wrong in my books!
your comments was just so negative, then you end up giving it a 8/10 which is a pretty good score. hence why he was like all "heh".
He should take a job in professional game reviewing then, he'd fit right in
The only logical reason as to why game reviewers scored this game so highly is that the developers must have sent free samples of cocaine along with the review unit.
Of course...thats the only possible explaination
I really enjoyed this game, great story, great visuals, great characters. Haven't had so much fun with a game in a while. Only bad thing was the time wasted just walking around looking at everything, it's all so pretty
It would atleast account for euphoric reception this game has been given by reviewers.
Maybe they really enjoyed the game. Hard concept to grasp I know....just because you didnt think that much of it, doesnt mean everyone else should as well.
I like it. But it's not great. It's just a run of the mill shooter with a storyline that took an extra 30mins to work over. I don't see why Infinite should not be held to the same standards as other FPSs.
That is just your opinion and you seem to be the minority. Just because you don't seem to like it doesn't mean that it isn't a great game that deserves all the praise.
I do love the art direction however, the gameplay isn't grabbing as much as it should.
The game does hand hold a little. I'm not a fan of this at all.
Deus Ex: Human Revolution did this a little better.
does it make a difference with the difficulty setting at all? because by the sounds of it its easy to play. I need hardcore !
1st Playthrough on Hard. Still not making me interested enough for me to play again.
Yeah it does, use the konami code on the main screen to unlock 1999 mode from the beginning. There's one rather annoying bit but other than that I found it a lot more fun. In hard mode I got by with upgrading weapons and 1-2 vigors, in 1999 I was using all of them bar the last one you get.
I have to agree with the sentiments on it as a game, you take the story out and you're left with a pretty standard shooter. It doesn't have any bossfights to speak of and it doesn't have the dynamic of big daddies/sisters and little sisters that the first two have. All it has is waves and waves of mooks.
Even as a story based game, it takes a while to pick up. I found the beginning boring and it only really picked up about 50-60% of the way in. The development attention was way too focused on the story and the little details that only really get revealed on the 2nd playthrough.
doesn't sound that good then
I think it is excellent in some areas and average in the rest. I'm finding I don't have the motivation to play it as it feels quite claustrophobic it's so linear so I'm chipping away at it once the kids go to bed.
Crysis 2, which I picked up in the sales and have started chipping away at too, doesn't feel anywhere near as small and constrained.
Combat feels like the ad breaks on TV during an awesome movie.
well last 3 pages it says its linear and boring, not sure what to expect lol.
I have a copy coming tonight so ill boot it up and see how i go hey
