Bioshock 1 was average, Bioshock was awful and Bioshock 3 was average.
I agree. Bioshock 2 does have a weaker story, and part of the problem is Rapture is not new and mysterious anymore, but a number of gameplay mechanics are much improved over Bioshock 1. I think the gameplay overall is better than Infinite.
yes, the mechanics are "tried-and-true" tested but it's the story that really separates bioshock 1 and infinite from bioshock 2.
I know Irrational has closed. You said "this will be the last time we see a Bioshock game" not "an Irrational game."
Who knows, maybe a new developer could take bioshock in an interesting new direction.
Exactly, publishers will do whatever they want with IP's, just look at Halo 4, Gears of War Judgement, Arkham Origins.... wait, those aren't very good examples at all, they only prove that cash grab games tend to be turds.
We can hope that any further Bioshock games will be good, but I will definitely remain skeptical until release
i am hoping the new batman game will do better
But if Bioshock 4 comes out next year and it's shit, you can still play Infinite and it will still be just as good as it once was. Yes it would be much preferable to have amazing new entries in a series you love but it doesn't diminish what's already been done. Especially in the case of games like Bioshock 1 and Infinite because their stories are very self-contained.
Getting a little off topic but a return to the initial devs is a good sign... it worked for Bioshock!
Bioshock with no Levine at the helm will be crap just as Bioshock 2 was...so, in essence this will be the last 'true' Bioshock game....so what I said was true imo
Not being able to Melee anybody is a pain.
i see what you mean: whenever you're discovered it only stuns them but if you're hidden or invisible it works.
anyway, i just finished the DLC and I think it wraps up infinite and the original bioshock nicely (with like a hint of bioshock 2 reference).
dlc part 1 was too short to be of any worth.
dlc part 2 was frickin awesome
without making a spoiler - the lobotomy scene was unforgettable
I know what you mean, I could almost feel it... Regarding the DLC, I feel it connected to the original Bioshock very well.
Just a little saddened that
both protagonists of Infinite are dead. At least in the end it was all for the greater good.
it's some damn good writing for a last hurrah. shame the studio is gone
finished the first one, although short, I still thought it was a beautiful game. I kind of wish the orignial 2 Bioshocks were re-made with modern technology.
I have started on Episode to - love playing a female protagonist. But still wish there was a "Finger yourself" button.
Is anyone having crashing issues after bout 5 min or so? And yes I agree wouldn't mind seeing that Kom.
Decided to replay this game now that I got my new PC, what a fantastic game... Glad to see it run much smoother, not 100% perfect but the game ran at 60FPS for 98% of it... There was the odd bit where the game just started lagging for no real reason.
Love the story in this game, and just played Burial at Sea part 1 for the first time (was waiting for the new PC)... Holy shit, that ending... Can't wait to get through part 2, shame I won't be able to do it in one sitting
On sale until March 13, for US$9.89. Finally bought it.
hmmm I never got past the big battle on the zeppelin thingy, drove me insane
Not sure whether Lego thread or Bioshock thread... but this is great...
