Night Dive Studios is a US company made up of experienced game industry veterans, specialising in acquiring the rights to old games and either re-releasing them, or making new versions with the old IP.

Sometimes those new versions use updated engines. Sometimes they build on old engines.

"Blood" was originally released in 1997, and is based on the Build Engine (used in titles like Duke Nukem 3D). Night Dive Studios have released a sequel with a very similar look and feel to the original (using the Kex Engine), and it's out today.

Been loving these re-releases since Turok and Turok 2  so much nostalgia!

Just a damned shame we probably won't ever see NOLF, NOLF 2 and Contract JACK releases for modern systems due to IP ownership conflicts :upset:

Edit: ohshit I suddenly have a Steam coupon for 50% off this new release for already owning the original Blood :D

Nightdive added a short video on their YouTube channel overnight with a few marketing points about their Kex Engine:

All I took from that video was wub wub wub and a mild epileptic fit.... lol

Been playing with this a bit, It's copping a flogging from purists, but it's not too shabby for a casual like myself.
Definitely needs some work, but I've been having fun with it so far. :)

Hoping the linux port rolls around soon. I saw linux and bought it on the spot, then realised they only had the win version out so far. lol

GoG says in it's compatibility that it's Windows only, but further down in the "Goodies" section says there's a Linux version?

Can anyone who's bought this on GoG confirm?
