Had the pleasure of shooting a good mate Jonas, who won his division in a contest and is now off to the nationals.....

The backgrounds are a bit too busy for my liking, but nice control of the lighting and shadows to bring out the texture of the muscles

great pics except #3 which he seems to be stressing so much over what looks like a light set of weights lol. it's also too dark.

Lighting is beautiful... but you've shot so wide so much that he looks tiny and misshapen :S

Really should zoom in more on men. Particularly with a full frame.

    tilt shift? (jk)

He looks miniature in some of them.

What a machine though, and as someone said before - great lighting control!

Thanks guys :), first time shooting something indoors :).

Yeah i should of but there was literally no room to move in the gym, machines and people working out everywhere.... lighting was pretty hard to, basically two windows in the whole gym so i had to position the shots near the windows....wanted to get a leg extension and squat shot but meh :).

Last one is the best for me.
The other ones are a bit light hearted for my taste, and seeing that a gym is usually about intensity and focussed training, the black and white and the pose + lack of smile is all wins. Well done.

I know you're not really meant to comment on the content, but damn, that guy looks strong.

I agree, the background looks too busy. Last one does it for me.
